Apple Watch is now an inseparable part of the Apple portfolio. These apple watches can significantly make the apple lover's daily life more pleasant, they can be used to receive notifications, monitor physical activities or sleep, or even analyze some health data. It's not for nothing that Apple watches are considered the best smart watches ever, which so far have no real competition. Moreover, their arrival sparked a passionate discussion. People were excited about the product and couldn't help but rave about each subsequent generation.

But as usual, the initial enthusiasm gradually fades. The Apple Watch is generally less and less talked about and often seems to have lost its charge. In reality, however, this is definitely not the case. After all, this can be clearly read from the information on sales, which are increasing year after year, and so far there is no indication that the situation should reverse.

Is the Apple Watch dying?

So the question is whether the Apple Watch is dying as such. However, we have already mentioned the answer a little above - sales are simply increasing, which we can take as an unequivocal fact. However, if you are an Apple fan and are interested in all kinds of news and speculation, then you may have noticed that these smart watches are gradually losing some of their charm. While just a few years ago there was a lot of speculation surrounding the Apple Watch, which mentioned a number of completely groundbreaking innovations and predicted the arrival of further changes, today the situation is significantly different. Leakers, analysts and experts stop mentioning the watch, and in general, the interest of the entire community in possible leaks decreases.

This can be clearly seen in the upcoming generation of the Apple Watch Series 8. They should be presented to the world already in September this year, specifically alongside the new iPhone 14. Although there are countless different speculations about the new iPhones, the Apple Watch is practically forgotten. In connection with the watch, the arrival of a sensor for measuring body temperature was just mentioned. We don't know anything else about the product.

Why there is no interest in Apple Watch speculation

But how is it possible that even years ago apple watchers were much more interested in possible news, while now the Apple Watch is rather on the back burner. Even in this case, we would find a relatively simple explanation. The current generation of Apple Watch Series 7 is probably to blame. Before the official presentation of this model, we could often come across various speculations that predicted a complete change in the design of the watch. After all, even the most reliable sources agreed on that. The core of the change was supposed to be a square design instead of rounded corners, but this did not happen at all in the final. Apple fans were in for an even bigger surprise - practically nothing has changed in terms of design. So it is possible that this misstep also bears a partial share.

Apple Watch sales are growing

Despite all the things mentioned, the Apple Watch is still thriving. Their sales are gradually increasing, which is confirmed, for example, by data from the analytical companies Canalys and Strategy Analytics. For example, 2015 million units were sold in 8,3, 2016 million units in 11,9, and 2017 million units in 12,8. Subsequently, there was a turning point speaking in favor of the Apple Watch. Subsequently, Apple sold 22,5 million, in 2019 30,7 million and in 2020 even 43,1 million units.
