We recently brought you an article on Jablíčkář about how to help Apple improve its services. While writing it, I went through the options of the device and exactly where and how Apple goes to point out some problems, errors and imperfections. If you're wondering if it works, you might be surprised. It really works.

I've been living at my current address for over ten years, and I never noticed that we have a U Semaforu restaurant right around the corner. Not only is there no traffic light, but as far as I can remember there is a seal and bearing shop. Which is very far from the restaurant. In 2007, the old footbridge was torn down and replaced by a regular bridge for cars as well, which leads over the railway line. But Apple Maps kind of fell asleep, even though they didn't even exist at the time. Google Maps and Mapy.cz never showed the restaurant.

According to the original instructions in the article, I reported the error to Apple. I stated that the restaurant was closed for a long time, and although I don't know the process of approving, adding and removing information from Apple Maps, it actually only took two days for me to get a response from Apple. Not by e-mail, but by notification directly from the Maps application. She informed about the fact that the place "U Semaforu" had been removed. After clicking on it in the iPhone, the application was launched, which also contained this information. Likewise, on my Mac, as soon as I opened Maps, I was notified of this move by Apple.

You will help others

It may seem like an insignificant little thing, but it is these little things that make the whole and the overall user experience. Consider that after a day of hiking or cycling you want to visit a restaurant to replenish your energy, and you enter the closest one in the maps when you want to navigate to that place in an unknown city with the application. Then when you arrive, instead of chewing on steak, you'll be chewing on rubber o-rings, and you definitely don't want that.

So reporting errors to Apple in its titles and systems makes sense and it can be seen that it will not go unheard. Perhaps the situation would be different if, for example, you just wanted to modify or supplement some information, but in this case the decision was actually clear.
