Fortunately, we now live in a time when, relatively soon after the introduction of new products, we can find the given products on the counters of retailers. Last year, the current covid-19 pandemic threw a pitchfork into it, due to which we had to wait a little longer for, for example, the new iPhone 12, or deal with the unavailability of goods. But apple growers were not always so lucky. In the offer of the Cupertino giant, we can find quite a few products for which fans had to wait several months before they even arrived. And we are even waiting for some pieces to this day.

Apple Watch (2015)

The very first Apple Watch, which is also sometimes referred to as the zero generation of Apple watches, was first launched on the market on April 24, 2015. But there was one rather big catch. This new product was only available in selected markets, which is why Czech apple growers had to wait for another Friday. But in the end, the wait stretched to an incredible 9 months, which is unimaginable by today's standards. However, it is necessary to take into account that the watch was simply not available for our market, which makes such a long waiting time relatively understandable.

Apple Pay

The same was the case with the Apple Pay payment method. The service offers the option of cashless payment via Apple devices, when all you have to do is verify the payment via Touch/Face ID, attach your phone or watch to the terminal, and the system will take care of the rest for you. There is no need to waste time pulling out a classic payment card from your wallet or entering a PIN code. It is therefore not surprising that there was a lot of interest in Apple Pay worldwide. But even in this case we had to wait quite a long time. Although the official introduction took place in August 2014, when the main role was played by the iPhone 6 (Plus) with an NFC chip, the service did not arrive in the Czech Republic until the beginning of 2019. So in total, we had to wait almost 4,5 years.

In addition, today Apple Pay is probably the most popular payment method of all apple sellers. In general, there is a growing interest in the possibility of paying with a smartphone or watch, which competitor Android with the Google Pay service is betting on. Despite this, the Apple Pay Cash service for sending money directly via iMessage, for example, is still missing in the Czech Republic.

iPhone 12 mini & Max

As we already stated in the very introduction, last year the world was faced with the global onset of the covid-19 pandemic, which naturally affected all industries. Apple specifically felt problems on the supply chain side, due to which question marks hung over the traditional September introduction of new iPhones. As you surely know, that didn't even happen in the final. The event was postponed until October. During the keynote itself, four models were presented. Although the 6,1″ iPhone 12 and 6,1″ iPhone 12 Pro were still available in October, Apple fans had to wait until November for pieces of the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

iPhone

The introduction of the very first iPhone, which is sometimes referred to as the iPhone 2G, took place at the beginning of 2007. Of course, sales started in the United States of America, but the phone never arrived in the Czech Republic. Czech fans had to wait another year and a half, specifically for a successor in the form of the iPhone 3G. It was introduced in June 2008, and in terms of sales, it went to 70 countries in the world, including the Czech Republic. The Apple phone was available through mobile operators.

iPhone X

At the same time, we must also not forget to mention the revolutionary iPhone X from 2017, which was the first to remove the iconic home button and once again changed the perception of smartphones as such. Apple has bet on a so-called edge-to-edge display, gesture control and a significantly better OLED panel. At the same time, the new Face ID biometric technology took the floor here, which performs a 3D scan of the face, projecting over 30 points on it and works flawlessly even in the dark. As usual, the phone was introduced in September (2017), but unlike current iPhones, it did not enter the market in the coming weeks. Its sale only started at the beginning of November.

AirPods

Similar to the iPhone X, the first generation of wireless AirPods was on it. It was revealed alongside the iPhone 7 Plus in September 2016, but their sales only started in December. The peculiarity is that AirPods were first available through the Apple Online Store, where Apple started offering them on December 13, 2016. However, they did not enter the Apple Store network and among authorized dealers until a week later, on December 20, 2016.

AirPower

Of course, we must not forget to mention the AirPower wireless charger. Apple introduced this in 2017 alongside the iPhone X, and had huge ambitions with this product. It wasn't supposed to be just any wireless pad. The difference was that it should be able to charge any Apple device (iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods) regardless of where you place them on it. Subsequently, however, the ground literally collapsed after AirPower. From time to time, indirect information about the development appeared to the media, but Apple remained silent. After a year and a half, a shock followed when in 2019 the vice president of hardware engineering Dan Riccio announced that the giant could not develop a wireless charger in the desired form.

AirPower Apple

Despite this, to this day, there is still a message about the continuation of development from time to time. So there is still a possibility that we will see AirPower one day after all.
