Call of Duty has been among the most popular first-person shooters for several years. Most of the titles in this extensive series can be played by game console and PC owners. Only six of the fifteen total releases are available for the macOS operating system. However, today they were joined by a seventh title, namely Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Black Ops III is far from the latest playable installment in the Call of Duty series. However, it is the most up-to-date in availability for Mac. The title was released in 2015, when it became the best shooter of the year, and it was followed by three more parts - Infinite Warfare in 2016, WWII in 2017 and Black Ops IIII last year.

The developer studio behind Call of Duty: Black Ops III for Mac Aspir, which during its development focused on the use of available technologies from Apple. In addition to full support for 64-bit architecture, which should be the absolute standard for all new applications and games for macOS today, the developers also used the Metal graphics API, which is, among other things, hardware-accelerated.

To play CoD: Black Ops III on Mac, you'll need at least macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra), a 5GHz quad-core Core i2,3 processor, 8GB of RAM, and at least 150GB of free disk space. A necessary part (and a stumbling block for many) is the requirement for a graphics card with at least 2 GB of memory, while cards from Nvidia and integrated graphics from Intel are not officially supported.

The game can be purchased and downloaded through Steam. There are three versions in total – the Multiplayer Starter Pack for €14,49, the Zombies Chronicles Edition for €59,99 and finally the Zombies Deluxe Edition for €99,99.
