The AirPower wireless charger was supposed to be a hit, but ended up being a disappointment. Apple introduced this product back in 2017 alongside the iPhone X, when it promised features that are still miles ahead of the current offering. Specifically, it was supposed to take care of powering the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, with the main advantage being that it didn't matter where you actually put the device on the charging pad. Subsequently, AirPower went downhill, and from time to time information appeared that pointed to problems during development.

The story of this wireless charger ended in an unfortunate way in March 2019, when Apple openly admitted that it could not complete the product. But currently, an extremely interesting video has appeared on the Twitter account of a user named Giulio Zompetti, which shows a fully functional AirPower prototype. This is the very first demonstration of its kind. In addition, the video shows a unique animation that was supposed to be displayed whenever the iPhone was placed on the mat. In that case, the apple phone should have displayed a field with the charging status of other products that are placed on the AirPower. In addition, Zompetti is a known collector of Apple prototypes and has shared images in the past, for example Apple Watch Series 3 with additional connectors, the original iPad with a 30-pin port, the iPhone 12 Pro prototype and many others.

Now, of course, the question is whether this short video is a simple hoax. In any case, Zompetti stands by the fact that this is a working prototype. Most likely, someone managed to take it out of Apple's premises, which is how it ended up in the hands of this collector. At the same time, the biggest problem with the AirPower charger was a feature that should have been its strength - or the ability to power the device regardless of which part of the pad you put it on. Because of this, it was necessary to have several overlapping coils take care of the power supply. We could already see how it could look in the finals last year, when pictures of the disassembled device probably leaked from the supply chain.

This is how the apple fans got a shot from the AirPower, which they fitted to the AirWaffle:
