Yesterday, Instagram confirmed the speculation of the last few days and introduced a new feature for its popular photo network - video. In addition to still images, it will now be possible to send your experiences in the form of 15-second videos.

By adding video, Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, clearly reacts to the competing application Vine, which for a change was launched some time ago by the rival Twitter. Vine allows users to share short six-second videos, and Instagram has now responded.

It will offer its users significantly longer footage as well as several other features that Vine lacks.

Over the past two and a half years, Instagram has become a community where you can easily and beautifully capture and share your snapshots. But some need more than a static image to come to life. Until now, such snapshots were missing on Instagram.

But today, we're excited to introduce Video for Instagram, bringing you another way to share your stories. Now when you take a photo on Instagram, you'll also see a camera icon. Clicking on it will take you to recording mode, where you can take up to fifteen seconds of video.

Recording works on Instagram just like it does on Vine. Hold your finger to record, remove your finger from the display to stop recording. You can do this as many times as you want before the 15 second warm-up. When you're done with your video, you'll choose which image will appear as the shot preview. And it wouldn't be Instagram if there weren't filters available. Instagram offers thirteen of them for videos, similar to those for ordinary photos. Also interesting is the Cinema function, which according to Instagram is supposed to stabilize the image.

You can see for yourself how, for example, the Czech tennis player Tomáš Berdych used the new function of Instagram <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>.

Those are Instagram's main new features, but the popular service has a little more to offer against Vine. During filming, you can delete the last captured passages if you are not satisfied with the result; you can also use focus and it's also worth noting that the top frame in shooting mode is transparent, so you can see more of the video, even though this part won't be in the result. It can help some people with their orientation, but confuse others at the same time.

You can easily recognize videos in your Instagram channel - they have a camera icon in the upper right corner. Unfortunately, Instagram does not yet allow you to display only images or only videos. However, version 4.0 is already available for download in the App Store.
