In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. We focus here exclusively on the main events and leave aside all speculations and various leaks. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Sonnet brings a solution to expand storage on Mac Pro

Last year, Apple showed us the brand new Mac Pro, which brings truly unrivaled performance and is primarily intended for the needs of professionals. Despite the perfect specifications and configuration options, we can "only" equip the Mac Pro with an 8TB SSD. What if we need more storage, but the California giant won't let you add it? At such a moment, you can reach for a component that allows you to connect another HDD or SSD. Sonnet announced today that they will soon start selling their Fusion Flex J3i drive cage, which will allow you to add up to three additional drives.

Of course, Sonnet is not the only company that specializes in these frames. Apple itself sells the Pegasus J2i from the company Promise, thanks to which you can expand the space by two additional disks. So far, however, we can only find such models on the market. According to the Sonnet company, this is the first model that allows the connection of three disks. And how does the Fusion Flex J3i itself work? Two slots of this product allow users to add a 3,5″ HDD or a 2,5″ SSD, while the third allows only the connection of a 2,5″ SSD. Bottom line – you can expand your Mac Pro's storage by up to 36 TB this way. It is also a matter of course that disks connected using the mentioned interface will never reach the same speeds offered by the original NVMe SSD disks in the core of the computer. But no one can deny that this is undoubtedly a great novelty, which will again push the limits of the possible limits of the powerful Mac Pro.

YouTube Kids is available on Apple TV for the first time

When you think of videos on the Internet, in the vast majority of cases the first platform that comes to mind is YouTube. On it we can find a really wide range of all kinds of videos. Of course, there are also videos that should not be watched by small children. The company itself was fully aware of this fact earlier, and in 2015 we saw the introduction of a new platform called Kids. As the name suggests, this service is primarily intended for children and only offers approved content. Google, which owns the YouTube portal, today boasted about a great news through a post on its blog, which will especially please Apple fans. The YouTube Kids application has finally arrived in the App Store for Apple TV. But don't be fooled. YouTube Kids isn't available for everyone, and you'll need to own a fourth- or fifth-generation Apple TV 4K to install it. But the advantage is definitely that once you sign up for this service, your parental settings and restrictions are automatically set for you.

More ads are heading to Instagram

The Instagram app is undoubtedly one of the most popular social networks ever. This is also confirmed by the fact that many of today's users use Instagram exclusively for communication, sharing photos, videos or stories and solve most of their issues through it. In 2018, we saw a new feature called IGTV, which allowed users to create longer videos. And IGTV is where the ads are headed right now. Instagram shared this news through a post on its blog, where it also mentioned the arrival of badges. But first, let's say something about the mentioned advertisements. These should now start to appear in IGTV videos, and according to the information published so far, Instagram is going to share the profit from these ads with the creators themselves. Ads can make some money, and Instagram promises that this news will greatly help a wide range of users with possible monetization and earnings. According to The Verge magazine, the social network will share 55 percent of the total revenue for the given ad with the authors.

As for badges, we can think of them as subscriptions to Twitch or YouTube. In this way, users will get the opportunity to support their favorite creators, from whom they will be able to purchase a badge during the live broadcast. This will then be displayed next to their name in the chat and will thus show that you have decided to directly support the creator.
