The Apple Pencil is a great tool for iPad Pros, no doubt about it. Apple pencils we devoted ourselves at a time when there was not yet such a wide range of applications on the market that would support Pencil. This fact is slowly and surely changing. Every month, interesting applications that communicate with Pencil appear in the App Store. One of them is Nebo from the MyScript developers, which I think has great potential.

At first glance, it's just another note-taking app, which is partially true, but Nebo's advantage is that it can automatically convert handwritten notes into electronic form. The key thing for us is that it supports the Czech language at a very good level, so it is 100% usable even for a Czech user who, moreover, does not necessarily have to be a cursive writer. The application usually coped with my hieroglyphs and there were few typos.

When starting MyScript Nebo for the first time, I recommend going through the introductory tutorial to familiarize you with the process of taking notes. You will learn how to delete letters or words in the application (just scribble it like on paper) or how to divide a word or sentence (just make a vertical line between the letters).

Although the application supports Czech for text recognition, the interface is not in Czech. However, MyScript Or is not too complicated. In it, you can easily organize your notes into notebooks and, in addition to text, also insert images or diagrams into notes, which you switch in the top bar. You can then, for example, have hand-drawn geometric shapes converted into precise shapes, which is useful, for example, for mind maps.

MyScript Nebo can handle both printed and written fonts and can convert both styles into electronic form. Just double-click on the given text. From the electronic form, with a double tap, you can go back to typing and continue. In addition to classic text, bullet points and emoticons are also converted, so your notes remain complete even after conversion.

The application is certainly not 100%, but when it misrecognizes handwritten text, you can click on them to select the correct expression and correct the translation. The integration of the Czech dictionary helps in this. Once you are satisfied with the text, you can share it as you like, convert it to PDF or HTML.

Or from MyScript is definitely one of the best note-taking apps for the iPad Pro and especially the Apple Pencil, whose potential it uses. On the other hand, this is at the same time its major limitation, as you cannot cross out in Nebo without a special pencil. If you don't have a Pencil paired with your iPad, the app won't let you write at all. However, typing by hand on the iPad is still not very effective. Anyone who has an Apple Pencil and is interested in converting handwritten text into electronic form can now download MyScript Nebo completely free of charge.
