Since the opening Keynote, Apple has been heavily criticized for the price of the stand for the new XDR Display. It costs a full 999 dollars and MSI immediately used it in its advertising campaign. In it, he highlights his own 5K monitor.

MSI shared a post on its official Twitter account in which the image is very similar to the famous "I'ma Mac" campaign. However, the sides are reversed and the stand (Mac) looks a bit shabby when compared to MSI's 5K monitor (PC).

The Prestige PS341WU is a 34" is a very well equipped monitor. It offers 5K resolution, HDR 600 certification, 98% DCI-P3 color gamut and the stand is included in the price. It stopped at $1, which is only $299 more than the stand for the Apple XDR Display. Or at least that's how the company promotes its product, which won't be on the market until next year.

MSI Prestige is deceiving, a closer look reveals flaws

Of course, upon closer examination, we discover that everything is not as rosy as it seems. Apple's display will offer 6K resolution on a 32" panel. Although the Prestige has a larger surface area physically, it doesn't offer nearly as many pixels. Another catch is hidden in the resolution itself, or it is not even a real 5K panel, but a 5K2K with a real resolution of 5120 x 2160. Instead of high-speed Thunderbolt 3, it only offers USB-C. Processing is also debatable as MSI relies on white plastics. And these are not all the parameters.

Of course, MSI targets completely different users than Apple and uses the entire campaign primarily for its visibility. On the other hand, even in the given price category, we can find much more interesting pieces, such as the LG 34" UltraFine monitor with similar parameters and Thunderbolt 3 in addition.

However, this probably won't be the first or last attempt to laugh at Apple. The after all, he ran himself. In theory, if he sold the monitor directly with the stand and added up the price, maybe he would take the ammunition out of many people's hands.
