OS X Mountain Lion offers 35 great wallpapers in the basic menu that you can use. However, if you penetrate the inside of the system, you will find that Apple is hiding another 43 of them from us. That is, hidden is not the right word. Wallpapers are intended for screensavers, but why not use them in other ways?
Especially for the screen saver mode, Apple has prepared another 43 beautiful images with a resolution of 3200 × 2000 pixels with scenery from National Geographic, wild nature or space. These images are not normally available in the wallpaper menu, but it is not a problem to get them there.
Here's a simple tutorial:
- In the Finder, use the shortcut CMD+Shift+G to invoke the action Open the folder and paste the following path: /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.Framework/Versions/A/Resources/Default Collections /
- You will see a window with four folders – 1-National Geographic, 2-Aerial, 3-Cosmos, 4-Nature Patterns.
- Move the images you find inside to any available folder and set them as your wallpaper.
I don't know what's going on, but it says that the folder doesn't exist. :(
I can't either
in finder you have to be in the root folder where you have hdd and network
LOL :D the "Cat" on the tree is good :D, but anyway, I'm quite envious of some of the people who took pictures...
One small thing: "
You will see a window with four files” these are folders and not files.
they don't hide anything, these are the folders from where the photos for the screensaver are taken :)
Yes, we also write that in the article.
Is it possible to download it from the net somewhere?
I will upload if there is interest.
I'm curious, there probably won't be photos in the older system
There is a link above.
Very beautiful background! Thanks for the tip!
They go to activate the base on the screensaver
Thanks for the tip :-)
FINALLY!!! I've been looking for this for a long time! I thought they were downloading on the fly =(
Is it possible to merge the original wallpaper folder with this one? I know that it would be enough to add photos to the folder where the original wallpapers are, but I can't find one. Any help? :)
