In recent days, we have been getting a lot of questions about when Mountain Lion will be released. Previous indications suggested that this would happen on July 19th, exactly 364 days after the release of OS X Lion. However, it's already two days ago and we again come to the question of when it will be. At the present time, it looks like the operating system should be released for users July 25. Preparations at Apple Stores around the world are said to peak next week, with store staff extending their hours on the 25th of July. If the date is confirmed, it will be exactly two weeks after the release of the Golden Master version.
According to the server AppleInsider.com Apple is also reportedly hiring new employees to have enough people to provide the customer support that will be needed when the new version of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is released. We remind you that the system will be distributed exclusively through the Mac App Store at a price of €15,99.
I would especially need a better MBPro... but then I don't have the money. My late 2010 is slowing me down a bit already.
I have late 2008, so I'm better at Duro ;-)
So get an SSD drive! Acceleration of the whole macbook is really guaranteed! I did so and I am completely satisfied!!! (mid 2009)
I can only confirm, buy an SSD and you don't need to buy new ones. Maybe add RAM. I also have a 2010 and it runs great
I have a MacBook mid 2007, I will no longer have Mountin Lion on it, it is not on the list of supported hardware. But I recommend to everyone, if it seems to them that their mac is slower, to replace the disk. I bought an SSD, Intel 320 series and it runs amazingly. I use the laptop only for the office and the Internet, I see no reason to buy a new computer, everything has become incredibly fast, the disk has been running for over a year, daily use, no slowdown, measured by xbench. The investment in SSD is worth it!
I have a similar experience. My MacBook Pro 13″ Mid-2010 is almost unusable with Lion. Let's see what a clean install of Mountain Lion does.
So I honestly think it's pretty stupid and if it's "almost unusable" I'd look elsewhere for the cause. Although I don't know what and how you operate, I'm also relying on personal experience and I don't see a difference on the same HW compared to SL. And yes, I currently have an SSD and 8GB of RAM. However, on HDD + 8GB RAM, I also did not see a difference between the performance of SL and Lion, the only thing I had a problem with was the SL -> Lion upgrade, the system was really slowed down, it required a clean installation. Now I'm talking purely about the speed of the system, I'm not implying that Lion is unfortunately not debugged and full of bugs.
For me, Lion runs perfectly usable even on a white Macbook from 2007, so I also think that the unusability on MB Pro 2010 is a problem of something else. The only thing I miss is multitouch control, otherwise it's fine.
my mid-2010 was slow too, hdd format and reinstalling lion helped.
yes, I have exactly the same mbro Processor: 2,4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo but I added: Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and SSD and it runs like lightning. Totally messed up system and boot is "before I can count to 5". everything opens except Office and Adobe basically immediately when I release the mouse button.
I recommend not to confuse the word indication and indication...
I think you messed up on the days since Lion was released... Shouldn't it be 264 instead of 364?
I ordered the frame from Ebay for 15 USD including shipping - although I had to grab some plastic that was in the way of the cables, but otherwise it's fine :)
I kept the drive and replaced the HDD with an SSD. Otherwise, for about 5300,- Kingston 240GB with Trim function seems to be a bearable price...:-) (a month or so ago). Well, I bought a frame for the HDD that I removed from the macbook and I use it as an external HDD. (absolute satisfaction)!
And are there any clues about the new Mac Mini 2012?
