Who doesn't know Pokemon? Pocket monsters were able to conquer the whole world at the turn of the millennium, when the Japanese islands became the epicenter of the Pokemon mania, which gripped almost everyone who lived at that time. More than twenty years after the first games were released on the ancient pocket Game Boy, animated monsters are still popular. Over the years, however, their gameplay loop has aged significantly, and competitors are beginning to appear who want to somehow revive the already exhausted concept. One of them is undoubtedly Monster Sanctuary from the developers from the Moi Rai Games team.

Although Monster Sanctuary shares the basic concept with the mentioned Pokémon in a number of details, it differs considerably. At the beginning, you get to choose from four different monsters, then by exploring the game world, you gradually expand your team thanks to victories in turn-based battles. Along the way, you will meet your personal rivals, whom you will defeat only if you can properly strengthen your team of monsters. However, unlike its more famous sibling, the game is played from a side perspective and requires you to accurately jump across various platforms.

Collected monsters then gradually help you unlock all parts of the magical world. Together with your companions, you solve puzzles blocking the way forward. There are a hundred and one different monsters in the game, you don't have to worry that their variability will decrease quickly. You can then customize each of your companions according to your taste using complex trees with abilities. You will then use them in battles, where you have to chain their individual attacks into combos that can wreak havoc on opposing teams.
