We are already in October informed about a number of indications that indicated the arrival of Apple Pay on the Czech market at the beginning of next year. At the same time, much was revealed by the banking institutions themselves on Twitter, specifically Komerční banka and ČSOB, which have already tested the service and are ready for its arrival. However, MONETA Money Bank does not want to lose its lead either, which now also confirms that we will see Apple Pay as early as February.

MONETA has confirmed its interest in supporting new technologies countless times in the past. Last year, it was one of the first in the Czech Republic to offer competing Google Pay (then Android Pay) and also became the first ever Czech bank to support Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay (recently she followed Commercial Bank). However, MONETA is already ready for Apple Pay these days, and this is a clear proof special section on the bank's official website specifically dedicated to the payment service from Apple and how to set it up and use it. Although the section is not normally searchable, it is still accessible by simply changing the url in the address bar of the browser.

Apple Pay in the Czech Republic already during February

In the mentioned section, however, we managed to discover one more point of interest, namely the approximate launch date of Apple Pay in the Czech Republic. At the end of the page there is a link to special products conditions for services, and here in the very last point we can read that they come into effect starting on February 1, 2. It can therefore be expected that the option to pay with an iPhone and Apple Watch will arrive in the Czech Republic during February, probably sometime at the beginning of the month.

By the way, other sources across the banking market are also mentioning about the turn of January and February, which I informed you about in a recent article. For example, ČSOB stated on its Twitter that it plans to launch Apple Pay in the first quarter of next year, which corresponds to the aforementioned February. Similarly, Komerční banka also wants to offer the apple payment service soon, which in a recent statement confirmed Monika Truchliková, who heads the Tribe Cash, Cards and ATMs department.

Originally, Apple Pay was supposed to be available in the Czech Republic this year. But Apple reportedly delayed the launch because it wanted to prioritize Germany, where the service arrived only yesterday. Meanwhile, the Californian company caught up offer paying with an iPhone in Belgium and even in Kazakhstan.
