The iPhone is one of the most popular photography devices ever. I myself recently sold my ultrazoom, as I am currently fully content with the iPhone 5 - I always have it with me and the quality of its images is at a very good level. I'll also get by with the native Camera app, as it's simple and has everything I need - except for a few situations.

My girlfriend and I wanted to take a picture from a distance, but we weren't even a foot away and the camera doesn't have a self-timer function. So I dug into the App Store and started digging through tons of apps. I had only two requirements - the application must be simple and cheap, preferably free of charge. I downloaded a few, can't remember the names, but Camera moment it remained the only one on my iPhone to this day. It was even free then, I guess.

The minimalistic interface offers six buttons at the top of the display. The flash setting offers four options – off, on, automatic, or constant lighting (like a flashlight). With another button, you can set the number of photos that are taken after a single press of the shutter button. You can choose from three, four, five, eight or ten images.

As the icon of the third button says, this is a self-timer that can be started at an interval of three, five, ten, thirty, or sixty seconds. In the settings of the Moment Camera application, you can choose the sound effects for the self-timer and also the blinking of the LED flash. This comes in handy so you can count down the seconds until you press the shutter.

The fourth button from the left is used to select the auxiliary grid. I personally like the square because of Instagram. Yes, Camera in iOS 7 can take a square photo, but I want to keep the photo in full size without cropping. The other two buttons are used to access the application settings and select between the front and rear cameras.

That's all Moment Camera can do. There is not much, but there is strength in simplicity. I don't need more functions from the photo application. Yes, for example, you can't set the focus and exposure points separately, but seriously - who among you has time for that?
