Telefónica Czech Republic, which operates the O2 network, introduced FREE tariffs on Thursday, April 11. During the following days, the two remaining mobile operators also gradually presented their offers. Is this really a tariff revolution or is it just one of many offers?
O2 tariffs
Telefónica managed to surprise the remaining two operators with its offer.

Unfortunately, this tariff is not intended for companies, but it can be purchased for 206 CZK, 412 and 619 CZK by an entrepreneur-natural person registered by social security number. The price is valid for a two-year term. If you don't want to commit, add CZK 150 per month to the price of the tariff. It will not be possible to purchase a subsidized mobile phone with these tariffs. But the new O2 Mobil service will allow you to buy a phone in installments.
When using the O2 Mobil service, customers choose the amount of a one-off payment that they pay after concluding the contract. The rest of the purchase price will be spread over the next 24 months. At the same time, the customer will not pay a single crown in interest or fees.
Vodafone tariffs
A few hours passed and the Czech Vodafone rushed in with the assurance that it, too, is already planning during May unlimited tariff. And even cheaper. He started pre-registration on his website.

The price offer is cheaper, unfortunately the amount of data (FUP) is less. With the cheaper tariff, you pay CZK 5,03 per minute for calls to other networks, but the tariff is calculated by the second. A new phone (even an iPhone) can be purchased with the tariff at a more favorable price.
Both unlimited plans will be available to all customers – business and non-business, new and existing, with contract and even without contract. Customers can choose a variant with or without a subsidized device.
T-Mobile tariffs
On Saturday, April 13, T-Mobile also presented its offer.

The offer of the largest operator is practically identical to O2. It is certainly worth noting that if you do not use up your free units, they will be transferred to the next period. Two cheaper tariffs enable the purchase of a discounted phone.

Why all this?
The reason for this small Czech mobile revolution in prices can have several possible causes. There are rumors in the corridors about the sale of Telefónica Czech Republic. A few thousand new customers can come in handy. Another possibility is the canceled competition for mobile frequencies under strange circumstances. The operators, thanks to the collective price reduction, narrowed the room for maneuver of the PPF group, which expressed interest in becoming the fourth operator.
Is it a price war?
A price war between operators has certainly not broken out. Call minutes above the tariff are just as expensive as with other offers, the customer usually has to "subscribe" to the operator. One operator offered a more favorable call and the remaining two responded to this thrown gauntlet within two days.
Benefits for customers
We have already heard the words about revolutionary tariffs many times. This time it can be said that, at least in the Czech Republic, this is a major price revolution. In the context of European mobile operators, the exorbitant Czech prices are only compared to the same level of neighboring countries.
If you decide to purchase one of the new tariffs, we recommend that you decide calmly, carefully study the terms and conditions on the website of the operator in question and do not succumb to the media massage. The entry of a new mobile operator and other virtual operators into the Czech market can lower prices. But if you spend more than a thousand crowns a month on calls and mobile internet, the new (most expensive) tariffs can save you money without obligation.
a really terrible offer at a time when it's all about data, people almost don't text and sometimes call someone, they felt that people don't use these services as much anymore, so they insured them like this, data is of course free and unfortunately the best offer for companies is somewhere else …
O2 it should only be based on the birth number :-/ but again 3200 and instead of 691 is a huge difference, I will definitely go for it, because I work about 40 hours a month.
In any case, at the moment when other operators are supposed to arrive, subscribing to someone for two years is total nonsense.
I am thinking about signing up for 2 years. I think that before something changes again, a year will pass and the result will be the same... Now I still pay 700 for 150 minutes, free sms and 300 mb net, which is misery. I don't really need unlimited calls, and I don't really need 30-40 SMS per month. But the data is worth it.
These tariffs are still not what today's times demand. Those who need to make a lot of calls use company offers and VPNs. For an ordinary person, it is enough to have unlimited calls to one or two numbers, which was easily solved until now. If there was one active person missing something, it was a reasonable data offer - and I certainly don't see that here. Certainly not with Vodafone, so its two-year contract offer is out. The combination of an offer for ČD customers with the use of the Kamarádi package will still put him in his pocket, for example, without any commitment – it is not unlimited, but most people do not need an unlimited tariff.
20MB FUP is an absolute travesty. Even the emails I receive every day are not enough for me..
With t-mobil S námi 390, according to the current price list, there are only 36 free minutes.
Don't happen to have a screenshot?
It's great that the operators have moved towards their customers, although for now they will rather satisfy tuphon users. The rest of us will have no choice but to save every byte or pay extra for the FUP reset.
Definitely a revolution, but like ours - velvet...
It's still way overpriced. I have a prepaid card in Austria and for €10 a month I have 1000 SMS and 1000 minutes to all Austrian networks and 2 GB of internet on it...
