Mini car races that can be fun and frustrating at the same time? Yes, that's Mini Motor Racing.

The development studio The Binary Mill does not bring anything new, there are several bird's-eye small car races on the App Store. Nevertheless, it surpasses all others. Even after more than a year since its release, I haven't found a single small car game that is better. And at the same time there are good contestants - Reckless Racing 1 and 2, Death Rally, or Pocket Trucks. However, Mini Motor Racing delivers a completely different gaming experience, which is more fun, in a nicer coat and, although it looks simple and fun, you can really sweat and get angry while playing.

Even the basic menu of the game tells you that someone cared about the game. You will find yourself in a garage, where the camera will gradually move as you go through the options (similar to the main menu in DIRT 2). The first thing I recommend is to choose the controls, in this game satisfactory controls are the basis. You have a total of 4 choices, and I always recommend leaving auto-acceleration on. I'm going to overtake a little, but you just can't win races without full throttle. The game modes are simply classics. You can choose between career, quick race and multiplayer. For a quick race, you choose a car, a track and you go racing. Multiplayer includes options for playing via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or online for 2-4 players.

The most interesting mode is of course career. First, you choose one of the clear cars from the basic selection. There are 20 cars in total, but the others can be purchased for 15 Career Cash - in-game currency (some are unlocked after completing the championship). You earn this money by winning career races. It's just a bit of a shame that you won't earn anything using the fast race outside of the career. As you earn money for winnings, you can upgrade your cars. Each racing special has 000 levels of upgrades - car control, nitro, acceleration and top speed (+ different color performance which are free). Of course, each car has different basic and maximum possible parameters. As you progress through each race, you will soon find out that you cannot win a more challenging race without upgrading your car. There are a total of three championships available here. "Original" contains a total of 4 races, "Bonus" has 120 races, and "Extended" with 92 races can be purchased for 15 Career Cash. And you don't have to worry, you will definitely earn money on it. Each race is always against five opponents and is chosen from a large number of tracks. There are 000 of them in total, but each track has a day and night version, as well as normal and reverse orientation. So in total you can race on 104 different tracks, and that's a big plus. Thanks to this, even after playing for a really long time, you don't have the feeling of stereotypical spinning.

And here are the first races. The choice of control is important. This is because you are looking at the racetrack from a bird's eye view of your car, so turning left and right changes dynamically according to the view of the track and the car's turn. It's a shock, but you'll get used to it and eventually you might even like it. Controls can be easily changed in the menu and then continue the race. And in advance, I recommend not braking into corners, but drifting through them, in other words, skidding. Now watch out for your opponent. Collisions slow down the toy car, so you'll want to avoid both opponents and guards. However, this is often not possible because the opponents are aggressive and sometimes too "stupid". It was often the reason why I was able to get angry with the game. The developers even recently had to adjust the aggressiveness of the opponents, many people complained about it. Opponents just push forward as much as they can, and it usually ends in mass collisions. Before you get used to it and learn to deflect or avoid the "attacks", it will often increase your pressure. Be careful though. Once the opponents are further apart, the blunt breakers become quite cunning and fast drivers.

you don't have the difficult test of a beginner, you start to enjoy racing and perceive everything around you. The graphics are at an amazing level. Not only beautifully crafted mini cars that you will love already in the garage. Even the tracks themselves are elaborated in detail, including the weather. During races, you can also notice burning tires, dust behind the car, water and other effects. You will also start enjoying the winnings and cash rewards for them. And so that racing is not so stereotypical even on a large number of tracks, Mini Motor Racing offers two bonuses. The first is short-term nitro. At the start of each race, you have as many uses as you have interior upgrades. And during the race, it also randomly appears on the track. There is also a second bonus, but less frequent – money. A banknote with a different value will appear on the track from time to time, so you can improve your total winnings. The musical accompaniment also adds to the overall experience of the game. Pleasant music in the menu and also on the tracks, including good sound effects such as nitro, beeping wheel announcements, drifting, or crashes.

What's wrong with the game? Apparently the initial desperation in the opening races. Furthermore, it is a little harder to earn money for more cars (the game also includes In-App purchases for money, cars and tracks). And last but not least, it's a standalone app for iPhone and iPad.

And what makes Mini Motor Racing such a great racing game? Great graphics with nice music and effects. A large number of cars. Possibilities of buying and subsequently improving cars. A large number of elaborate tracks. Multiplayer. And last but not least, the feeling when the game first shows its cute side, only to find out during the races that it is no fun. But don't worry, you'll still enjoy Mini Motor Racing.
