Last month, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo published a report regarding this year's upcoming iPhones. According to this report, Apple should come up with four new models in the second half of this year, all of which should have 5G connectivity. This year's lineup should include models with sub-6GHz and mmWave support, depending on the region in which they will be sold.

According to Kuo, iPhones with mmWave support should be sold in five regions in total - the United States, Canada, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom. The respected analyst further adds in his report that Apple may disable 5G connectivity in countries where networks of this type have not yet been launched, or in areas where the relevant coverage will not be as strong, as part of reducing production costs.

In another report obtained by MacRumors this week, Kuo says Apple is still on track to release both sub-6GHz and sub-6GHz + mmWave iPhones, adding that sales of those models could start the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year.

But not everyone agrees with Ku's prediction. Analyst Mehdi Hosseini, for example, disputes the time frame Kuo gives in his reports. According to Hosseini, sub-6GHz iPhones will see the light of day this September, and mmWave models will follow either this December or next January. According to Kuo, however, production of 5G iPhones with sub-6GHz and mmWave support continues on schedule, and the complete product line will be introduced in September, as has been the practice for many years.
