Microsoft has released a new version of Skype software called 7.0. The updated version of this popular communication application for VoIP calls brings support for 64-bit system, changed design and new features and improvements.
Skype 7.0 is obviously based on the iOS version, and the only difference is more or less the layout of the controls, which takes advantage of the larger computer display. Chat conversations now take place in colored "bubbles" and there are circles with avatars next to contact names. The way sent files are displayed has also changed, with images being displayed directly in the conversation. Other files have been given corresponding icons, according to which it is easy to find the desired file type in the history.
The call and chat window are initiated with one click, and free bulk video calls should work more reliably in the new version. Skype's ability to sync conversations marked as "Favorites" will certainly come in handy as well. The latest news mentioned are support for large emoticons and limited message text formatting.
Skype 7.0 is available for free at site.
HOWEVER, I'M A BIG FAN OF MICROSOFT, SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHO CAN USE SKYPE IN THIS AGE OF IMESAGE, VIBER, WHATSÚ?
Voip calling is not high-quality, but maybe Microsoft hasn't found out yet that this can be done on a MOBILE!! I know there is a mobile version too - I only have one problem - it rarely works...
iM can only be used by Apple users with iOS and MAC OS devices, so Skype can be used there. However, I would say that the time limit for unlimited tariffs is set, so Viber and the like will not have a long future in my opinion
I wouldn't say that, operators (outside the Czech Republic) may have unlimited tariffs, but in times of unlimited calls, data tariffs are the last rite .. and as far as I know, some limit the form of transmission and place vibers and the like in the so-called gray zone, which means you have unlimited data, but so slow that it's almost not worth it .. but we'll see in the future. and with us, unlimited data at a reasonable price is unfortunately just a dream :(
If we are talking about mobile internet, data is unfortunately not unlimited even abroad - min. in Europe (and they probably won't be for a long time), but I have in mind unlimited calls and messages ... after all, for example, I can only use Viber with those who also have this program (as well as iM, Skype, etc.), whereas you have standard SMS and calls on every mobile and, for example, thanks to continuity (e.g. Apple), I can also use this on laptops and other devices.
The truth is that unlimited tariffs are not free, but the view of the price is individual, for example, I call and pro-message 2-3 thousand CZK per month, so paying 500 for an unlimited tariff to all networks + net is advantageous for me, but that it's up to each one separately. Moreover, when (if) rooming is really canceled, it will be about something else again....
But that's a bit off topic, in short, Skype doesn't bother me personally :)
PS: sorry if I misunderstood you
Proclaim 2–3 K CZK? Is that possible only in roaming today?
Unfortunately, it works even without roaming
Skype is an excellent tool for e.g. language learning. Can you imagine having a two-hour lesson with the phone close to your ear? Moreover, it is a platform commonly used on both desktop and mobile phones across platforms. I use it at work to communicate with customers and with software support of CAM systems. In my opinion, it is still the best client for this kind of communication. Both Viber and Whatsup are great, but only on mobile devices.
Why Skype? The answer is simple. It is a multi-platform communication tool. What Apple is trying to achieve on all platforms, Microsoft has mastered cross-platform with Skype. It doesn't matter if I start the communication on Windows, Mac, phone or tablet. You seamlessly pick up where you left off. Don't have your device back? You can log in via the website anywhere.
Skype has been my favorite since the past, although I now use the Apple platform
I still don't understand why they didn't release version 8.0 right away :-)
I would also welcome a fine-tuning of the iOS version. Skype on my iPhone eats the battery terribly. I don't notice it on hangout, whatsapp or FB messenger.
