Microsoft has released another in a series of misleading ads comparing Windows 8 tablets to the iPad. This time entered the battle with the iPad with the Surface RT. 9to5Mac.com comments:

Aren't we tired of it already? The latest ad claims that the Surface has a stand and a keyboard, only to add in bold gray font that the keyboard is an optional accessory, plus you can buy an iPad keyboard for less. And again, he points to the absence of Office on the iPad, which Microsoft deliberately did not release in order to make this claim.

Microsoft still hasn't understood that the average tablet user actually wants a full-fledged computer, the success of the iPad is built largely on the fact that it frees its owners from the complexities of desktop operating systems and does not stand in the way of what they really want from it - to consume content. Microsoft, on the other hand, is trying to force the complete operating system back on tablets and highlights, for example, the use of Office, which, however, will always be better controlled on a laptop, and anyone who needs to use Office on a daily basis will prefer an ultrabook to a tablet.

The fact that both customers and partners of Microsoft are distancing themselves from Windows RT speaks for itself. If multitasking (well done, by the way), Office (which has alternatives on iOS) and an integrated stand are the only things that can surpass the Surface iPad, then it's no wonder that they Microsoft sold as many iPads in 8 months as Apple sold in less than two days a lowered the price by $150 and $100 depending on the model to at least sell them out.
