At the end of this year, support for mobile devices with Windows 10 Mobile will definitely end. In this context, Microsoft recommends its (former) customers to start switching to smart mobile devices with the iOS or Android operating system.

The recommendation appeared in a document that Microsoft released as part of its support for the Windows 10 Mobile operating system, in which the company explains, among other things, that it plans to end security updates and patches for the operating system. "With the end of support for the Windows 10 Mobile operating system, we recommend that customers switch to a supported iOS or Android device," reads the company's official statement.

Microsoft ended support for Windows Phone in July 2017 and also ended active development of the Windows 10 Mobile platform in October of the same year. The company had more and more problems engaging developers to create applications for its platform, its user base was also insufficient. After saying goodbye to Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft began to focus on other platforms and also offers a wide range of applications for both Android and iOS operating systems. It will be possible to use Windows 10 Mobile even after December 10 this year, but updates will no longer occur.

Microsoft's Cortana assistant also ceases to be a direct competitor to Amazon's Alexa and Google Assistant - Microsoft intends to focus on integration rather than competition.
