Today, Microsoft officially confirmed that its voice assistant Cortana will indeed arrive on iOS and Android. The software giant has published its plans, which include separate applications for both competing systems. These are intended to push Cortana beyond the Windows platform and make it a universal voice assistant.

Microsoft has only given a glimpse of cross-platform Cortana so far, but the company said that users will be able to use the same questions and instructions across all platforms with Cortana. Cortana is expected to arrive on Android as early as June, and its mutation for iOS should follow later in the year.

Cortana on iOS and Android certainly won't be as handy as it is on its home platform, as it would require deeper integration into the system. However, Cortana will provide iOS and Android users with classic functions and notifications. For example, it will tell you sports results, provide information about your flight and the like. In short, Microsoft's goal is to provide Windows 10 users with the best possible service, regardless of which smartphone they use.
