Metro Paris Subway is the first ever app to bring augmented reality to the iPhone. Metro Paris Subway probably won't be used much by the average Czech user, but if you ever go to Paris, this application might come in handy.

Metro Paris Subway can make full use of the GPS, accelerometer and digital compass in the iPhone 3GS (augmented reality only works on it). It is because of this that the concept of augmented reality can appear on the iPhone. After starting the application, you can look around on the iPhone, with the difference that you will also see pointers with various information on the iPhone display.

Are you wondering if there is, for example, a fast food restaurant nearby? No problem, just start the Metro Paris Subway, they will look around and you will see a pointer with a McDonald's logo on the display, for example, on which will be written its distance. Then just follow your nose and you will arrive at your destination.

Metro Paris Subway mainly shows the nearest metro stations, but it can also show important places on the map, such as the fast food places I mentioned. But for each additional set of interesting places, you will pay additional fees directly in the application. For €0,79, this is an interesting application, unfortunately for Czech tourists, downloading information via the Internet would cost a fortune.

However, other applications with augmented reality are already appearing, for example the Yelp search engine. Unfortunately, it is only available to US and UK residents.
