Want to be prepared for the weather? Do you want to control storms, lightning and snowfall? If so, so be it MeteoMaps they are right for you!

MeteoMapy, from the company InMeteo, s.r.o., is at first glance a very simple application that describes the course of current or hourly precipitation over the Czech Republic. MeteoMapa can offer you several useful functions. One of them is the occurrence of precipitation over the Czech Republic with an accuracy of up to 1 km. There is also a forecast of precipitation for the next hour. Data from more than 100 weather stations for the MeteoMap application is provided by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute. Meteorological stations record temperature, wind, precipitation, but also humidity or air pressure. For each station, the temperature development is interestingly shown in the graph.

In the event of storms, the application can display the places where lightning struck. Based on the radar image, you will then know how the storm will continue to develop. By displaying weather information directly from users who monitor the weather in given locations, the information becomes even more accurate. For me personally, the most important feature was the "update your current location" based on the GPS principle. This function will reliably find your current location, but unfortunately it lacks the ability to search for another specific city or another area. I also miss the ability to save the history of places I have visited or searched for in the application.

The location update is located in the top bar on the right side. The top bar also contains the date with the time in the middle and the settings button on the left. The bottom bar is probably the most important, there is a timeline on it that starts a video about the progress of precipitation. You can stop the video, then play it, stop it, and there is an update button right next to it. Above the bottom bar, surprisingly, there is another bar where you can easily set several basic functions that will be displayed on the map. I have to admit that the communication between the application and the user is very easy and quite fast. The application has a very simple design, which is not so eye-catching, but it serves its purpose.

Among the pros, I can point out a few supporting flags. First: the speed of working in the application, which really everyone can handle. Secondly, the application has a lot of attractive features despite its simplicity. I was personally interested in the camera images provided by the camera database webcams.cz, which will allow us to look into your destination. The third plus point is that the maps are updated every ten minutes.

Among the negatives, we can include the fact that as soon as I started MeteoMapy, I was surprised that the precipitation forecast only applies to the Czech Republic. I wondered if it wouldn't be better to have an overview of how the weather is developing even beyond the borders of our state. A very fundamental disadvantage of the application is that it does not have a search for specific places and areas that are outside of your current location. When I wanted to find, for example, the small town "Holyšov", I had to look for it on the map with my eyes, and thus my time to find out the current weather in this small town was considerably extended.

In conclusion, I would like to add that I can recommend MeteoMapy to everyone who wants to be prepared for the weather.
