Remember the time when every possible app kept adding features copying Snapchat for so long that Snapchat itself was practically forgotten? So-called "stories" can be found in all kinds of applications today, and many people today have a hard time remembering where the short videos that disappear after 24 hours actually appeared in the first place.

Currently, it enjoys great popularity BeReal app. The application works by sending a notification to users at a given time, upon receipt of which users are to immediately take a picture of what they are doing at that moment. Meta, the company behind popular messaging app Messenger, is currently developing a feature called Roll Call, according to recent reports. In a way, the mentioned function is supposed to imitate the function of the BeReal application, while the photos taken will only be seen by a precisely defined circle of users.

However, unlike BeReal, users will not be prompted to take a photo at a specific time within Messenger. Any user can issue a call to take a picture at any time, and can enter any topic - for example, taking a picture of lunch or physical activity. Other members of the group will join in the action if they want. Matt Navarra was one of the first to report on the Roll Call feature on Twitter.

The feature will reportedly be available in group chats, with the aim of encouraging users to share authentic moments from everyday life. The feature is currently in the prototype phase, so its final form may differ from the screenshots published on Twitter.
