Apple focuses primarily on health and wellness in the case of its Apple Watch. After all, earlier Tim Cook himself, who holds the role of the company's CEO, expressed that health is the most important segment for Apple in the case of the Apple Watch. For this reason, there has been talk for a long time about the arrival of a sensor for non-invasive blood sugar measurement, which would indescribably change the lives of thousands of users.

An interesting concept depicting the blood sugar measurement of the expected Apple Watch Series 7:

We informed you at the beginning of May that this technology is already on its way. It was then that an interesting collaboration between Apple and the British medical technology start-up Rockley Photonics surfaced, which focuses on the development of accurate sensors for measuring the aforementioned blood sugar level, body temperature, blood pressure and blood alcohol level. And that's exactly what happened now. The company Rockley Photonics was able to develop a precise sensor for measuring blood sugar. But for now, the sensor is placed in a prototype and is awaiting a lot of testing, which of course will require a lot of time. Nevertheless, this is a huge milestone that could soon mean a complete revolution for the entire smartwatch segment.

Rockley Photonics sensor

You can see what the prototype actually looks like in the picture attached above. As you can see in the photo, the interesting thing is that it uses the strap from the Apple Watch. Currently, outside of testing, it will be necessary to ensure the reduction of the entire technology and its implementation in the apple watch. Although it was already talked about that "Watchky" will come with a similar gadget this year or next year, we will have to wait a few more years in the final. Even Bloomberg's Mark Gurman previously said that the Apple Watch Series 7 will get a body temperature sensor, but we'll have to wait a few years for a blood sugar sensor.

Unfortunately, diabetes affects many people around the world, and these people have to carefully monitor their blood sugar levels. These days, this task is no longer a problem, as an ordinary glucometer for a few hundred is enough for you. However, the difference between this device and the technology from Rockley Photonics is huge. The mentioned glucometer is so-called invasive and needs to take a sample of your blood. The idea that all of this could be solved in a non-invasive way is extremely attractive to the whole world.
