Last year, Apple introduced the large iPad Pro with a more than twelve-inch display. Today he added a new model to it - the smaller iPad Pro is 9,7 inches, but it contains all the advantages and functions of the larger model, including a great audio system, huge performance, the ability to connect accessories in the form of a pencil or a smart keyboard. And it's even better in many ways.
The smaller iPad Pro has a display with the same resolution as the iPad Air 2 (2048 by 1536 pixels) and the same pixel density as the Air 2 and the original Pro (264 PPI). The big news, however, is True Tone technology, thanks to which the display automatically adapts to the light environment in which the user is currently located, based on a four-channel sensor.
Compared to the Air 2 model, the smaller iPad Pro is up to 25 percent brighter and up to another 40 percent less light should be reflected from the display. Otherwise, the ten-inch iPad Pro remained equipped with hardware very similar to its larger sibling.
Inside the smaller iPad Pro beats the most powerful chip that the company has ever presented - the A9X with 64-bit architecture, which promises 1,8 times higher performance than the A8X in the same-sized Air 2 model. The RAM remains at 4 GB, again twice as much compared to the same-sized Air 2 There is also an M9 motion coprocessor. The original iPad Pro received very positive reviews for the new speakers, which Apple built in four of them, and now the smaller iPad Pro also comes with the same equipment.
Although it is smaller in size, the 9,7-inch iPad Pro, which is half a year younger, received certain components that make it even better than the larger model. The camera has twelve megapixels instead of eight, which is reflected, for example, in the higher quality of panoramic shots (up to 63 megapixels). A step forward is also the implementation of True Tone flash, which is located under the camera lens.
Supporters of Live Photos can also rejoice, as they are now offered the use of the iPad for the first time in addition to the iPhone 6s/6s Plus. All this is complemented by autofocus based on Focus Pixels technology and an improved noise reduction function. Selfie lovers will also come to their senses with the smaller iPad Pro. The front FaceTime HD camera not only received four times more megapixels (five), but also has a so-called Retina flash, when the display lights up white.

The smaller iPad Pro is also better in shooting, both against the Air 2 and the larger Pro. You can now shoot in 4K at 30 frames per second and film video stabilization is present. Less understandable, however, is the fact that, just like on the latest iPhones, the protruding camera lens now appears for the first time in the iPad as well. We can only hope that the tablet won't wobble too much when placed on the table.
Battery life is also an essential chapter. Apple promised up to ten hours of browsing the web on Wi-Fi (9 hours on the mobile network), watching video or listening to music already with the large iPad Pro and Air 2. This has not changed even with the introduction of the latest tablet.
As expected, the nearly 10-inch iPad Pro will also offer a Smart Connector for connecting an external keyboard. Today, Apple also introduced its own Smart Keyboard, tailor-made for smaller tablets, which recharges itself when connected and also serves as a protective cover. Of course, the new iPad Pro also gets along with the Pencil, which is supposed to be an important part of it for many.
We can traditionally unlock the iPad Pro using Touch ID, but unfortunately we cannot find the 3D Touch display on this iPad either. The latter remains the exclusive affair of the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. On the other hand, this no longer applies to the color variants, because the smaller iPad Pro is also available in a rose gold version in addition to the space gray, silver and gold variants. And it also brings something new in terms of capacities: in addition to the 32GB and 128GB variants, a 256GB version is also available for iOS devices for the first time.
It is not yet clear when the 9,7-inch iPad Pro will go on sale in the Czech Republic. Apple reports "coming soon" and it will be March 31 in the United States, but at least we know the Czech prices. The cheapest iPad Pro 32GB Wi-Fi costs 18 crowns. The most expensive configuration, 790GB with mobile connection, costs 256 crowns. Compared to the previous iPad Air 32, this is a drastic increase in price, but the good news is at least the discount on this tablet. You can now buy the Air 390 model from 2 crowns. As for other changes in the iPad portfolio, the 2st generation iPad Air has completely disappeared from the menu, and the aforementioned Air 11 has lost its 990GB variant. There has been no change between the small iPad minis, so the iPad mini 1 and the older iPad mini 2 are still available.
Won't it be the first iPad with a protruding camera socket?
And we didn't know the difference. How will it be with availability and price? Will the base model cost 599 euros?
2048x15xx - I don't know exactly
price and resolution are already on apple.cz
Ok, so the solution remains, it doesn't matter.. Now I have to wait when it can be bought in Slovakia and how much it will cost
The resolution is disappointing compared to the promised 4k. After all, pixels are sometimes visible at this density. But Apple is on the right track, personally I would welcome image stabilization in the lens, 3D touch and 4K display, but I think that at least the last two innovations will come with the second generation of cameras. Apple only has its 1st and 2nd generation syndrome :D
I had the first retina ipad (3rd gen) and even with this model it was not possible to recognize individual pixels with the naked eye. so your complaint about the resolution is completely beside the point. the fact that samsung uses full hd displays somewhere does not mean that apple has to do it too. what is sharp on a full hd 4″ display may not be sharp on a 50″ full hd television.
Yes, I also had the same iPad and I was suffocating with this resolution for a while, but today the situation is different. It is a good old fact that the human eye's limit for recognizing pixels is between 300-400 dpi (individual for each person) and also that the pixel density is best recognized on a white surface (and look at 3/4 iOS). Adding a bit of resolution wouldn't be out of place for a device that boasts the moniker for and 4K video recording. By the way, the 3rd gen iPad already had a higher resolution than full HD.
So that's the final one. Cook can shake hands with Sculley. This is no longer just an aesthetic "fail", but a downright designer one. A table that won't stay flat on the table. He probably doesn't mean it. But maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. Anyway, another indication of Cook's dilettantism: iOS as a full-fledged MAC/PC replacement.
That protruding lens is a total construction gimmick worthy of some Chinese. It seemed to me like a lot of fuss about nothing with the iPhone, but in the case of a tablet, which is also meant to be used for drawing with a pen, so it is directly intended to be used flat-out on a table, it is completely incomprehensible. In essence, it is condemned to the packaging, which just unnecessarily increases the step between the drawing surface and the table.
Optics should clearly have given way here, the camera in a tablet is not exactly the main topic (unlike a phone).
Did the desperadoes give it a raised cock again? Hahaha, this is not only a design failure for the iPad, this is also a user error, because the iPad often lies on the surface and will wobble like this. A bit strange when I brag about using pens, for example.. Has anyone in the diverse multicultural Apple gone through their heads yet?
I wonder who keeps an ipad without a case on the table??
Daily.
It's a year and a half ago a day. Now I have the cover, but unfortunately not necessarily because of the sticky cocce. It's a fail. Write it down by ear.
thanks no, I have air 2 and I stay with it, unnecessary upgrade...
The protruding lens is quite a fail, but we will really see the final effect when it goes on sale. Maybe that's why all the people in those videos have to hold their iPad with the other hand so it doesn't sway on that lens. :) But I'm still looking forward to it, I hope it will serve me at least as long as my 1st Gen. iPad. :)
When the raised lens appeared on the iPhone, I thought it was a bit of a fail and that Steve, of good memory, wouldn't allow it. I don't like it when someone speaks for him like that, because no one saw into his head even during his life and his death probably didn't improve it much, but I remembered him again when the new iPad was introduced. Personally, I thought Apple would fix this obscure issue on the iPhone 6S, but it didn't. And now this! This is no longer just an appearance failure, but mainly a user and ergonomic one, and don't get mad at me, this would never have happened to Apple before.
My God, was it really so important to put a better camera there, when hand in hand with that they blocked the potential of a good device!?
I have an iPad Air 2 and I'll be honest, I've been itching to upgrade to the new iPad Pro. But not like this. The price has skyrocketed, and it's still such a pig...
mainly, it is not such a technological challenge to put another, a hair thinner, optic there. But what about the old one?
