If you are a fan of Nintendo games, we have some very good news for you. In addition to the Super Mario Run game published last year, another venture of this famous brand is about to expand the waters of the App Store. Sometime during the first half of next year (or by the end of March at the latest), a new game from the legendary Mario Kart series will appear on the iOS platform, which will be subtitled Tour. The information appeared on the company's official Twitter account.

Nintendo experienced huge success with Super Mario Run, albeit a somewhat controversial title (mainly due to the payment model that circumvented Family Sharing). The novelty in the form of Mario Kart Tour sets the highest goals, and Nintendo wants to build on last year's successes. With how popular the Mario Kart series is, the potential to fulfill the premise is really there. The ported versions on the Game Boy Advanced or Nintendo DS game consoles were always among the best-selling and best-rated. So Nintendo can do these games.

There is no additional information about Mario Kart Tour. Even the release date announced in the aforementioned Tweet should be taken with a grain of salt. Nintendo is notorious for not making too much of a fuss about release dates. Fans of the series are also anxiously awaiting what monetization model Nintendo will use. Whether the novelty will go the way of Super Mario Run, i.e. one-time payments. Or it will be a so-called Free to play title that will be infested with microtransactions. Most fans hope for the first solution, but the second is usually more profitable (as Nintendo itself could see when comparing Super Mario Run with Fire Emblem Heroes).
