Adam Kos The pool of streaming platforms that we have available in the Czech Republic has grown again. This year we already saw the transformation of HBO GO into HBO Max, and now the long-awaited Disney+ has arrived. But we still have market stalwarts in the form of Netflix or Amazon Prime video. But which platform to reach for? It's not just about the price.
Netflix
The largest Netflix offers a truly extensive library. Its advantage is that it is constantly adding its own original content, the disadvantage is that it is often of unbalanced quality. You will find clear hits here, but also some not-so-successful pieces. An interesting bonus is the Games platform, which will also provide you with mobile games for a subscription within the video stream.

Netflix has three tariffs. The basic one will cost you 199 CZK. But for your money, you only get the option of one stream and one device to which you can download the content for offline playback. There is neither HD nor Ultra HD resolution. You can get the first for CZK 259, the second for CZK 319 per month. The Standard package increases the number of devices to two, Premium to four.

Vratislav Holub HBO Max
You pay CZK 199 per month for HBO Max, with annual payment the price is more favorable, because with it you save 33% of the price and it costs you CZK 1. The platform allows you to stream simultaneously on three devices, there are up to five profiles with tailored recommended content. You can watch selected movies in 590K Ultra HD, HDR 4 and Dolby Vision resolution on selected devices. In the library, you will find content not only Max Original from the HBO workshop, but also films and series from WB, DC or Cartoon Network.
Disney +
Disney+ will cost you CZK 199 per month, the annual subscription price is CZK 1 (990% discount). Here, too, there are user profiles, of which you can have 15, you can watch content simultaneously on four devices, download offline content on up to ten. On compatible devices, you can look forward to up to 7K UHD resolution and Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Here you will find shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, Star and more.

Amazon Prime Video
A monthly subscription to Prime Video will cost you CZK 79 per month. Up to six users can use one Prime Video account. Through one Amazon account, you can stream a maximum of three videos at once within the service. If you want to stream the same video on multiple devices, you can only do so on two at a time. In addition to normal HD resolution, content can be viewed in 4K Ultra HD quality, including HDR support, but of course only for selected content.

Apple TV +
All the platforms mentioned above offer not only their original content. But Apple TV+ goes its own way, and you won't find anything here except the Apple Original brand. So you can find, but for additional fees, the purchase of a film or its rental. You will pay 139 CZK per month, but you can also use the Apple One subscription, where you also get Apple Music, Apple Arcade and 200 GB of iCloud storage for 389 CZK per month. In both cases, you can share your subscription in Family Sharing with up to five people. It allows 6 simultaneous streams, with each member viewing their own content. Apple TV+ supports 4K, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Voyo offers over 2 films and series in Czech, popular programs before they were on TV, the best sports broadcasts, and more than 000 fairy-tale and animated programs for children and adults for 200 CZK per month. You can use your subscription on up to five devices, but playback can only be running on 159 devices at a time. Currently, the highest possible video quality is Full HD.
