Ondrej Holzman While on Windows computers users have had it directly in the system for some time, in OS X the easy management of windows, namely their size and layout on the screen, has always had to be solved through third-party applications. Many of these have been created over time, one of which is the Czech application Magnet.
Apple is in the pipeline OS X El Capitan, coming out this fall, will finally offer a similar feature to the popular one, but its window management will surely be limiting for many users. In El Capitan, it will be possible to easily "split" the screen and thus have two applications displayed next to each other for more convenient work, but these applications will have to run in full-screen mode.
Those who already use the full-screen mode for applications in Yosemite will certainly be happy about the new window management in El Capitan, but for many other users, a third-party application such as Magnet will continue to be indispensable.
Magnet is a handy utility that sits in the top menu bar and allows you to do the following with an application window: maximize it, return it to its original size, align it to the left/right/top/bottom half of the display or to one of the four corners when you quarter the screen.
All these actions can be performed in three ways: at least you will probably use the icon in the top bar, because it is faster via a keyboard shortcut, or by moving to the selected part of the screen, depending on how you need to position the window and reduce/enlarge it. In addition, you can choose the keyboard shortcuts according to your needs.
Magnet comes in handy even if you use external monitors. The application supports up to six of them and it is not a problem to send individual windows between monitors via Magnet.
Magnet certainly isn't the only window management app you'll find for Mac. However, if you do not yet have your favorite application of this type, Magnet offers maximum simplicity combined with maximum efficiency, which will come in handy when managing windows. For 5 euros, Magnet can immediately become your daily helper.

I downloaded the trial version and bought it. Moom is really the bomb.
Not only can you move the windows by dragging the bar and attaching them to the sides, but you can also choose the location by hovering over the green cap. Really great.
In addition, it can be set beautifully and works even hidden.

if I hate something about win, if I drag the windows and it happens to touch the top of the screen, it immediately maximizes .. I hope they don't introduce this here .. or it can be simply turned off :)
It could be set up. On the other hand, having a 3rd party app for such a basic thing…. This is really the only feature I miss from win every day.
Me too. I don't think the solution in El Capitan is the best. As a first attempt, yes, but I would expect it at the same time when the full-screen mode is introduced. Not after so many years.
