Magazine TEAM published a list of the fifty most influential devices of all time. A wide range of different products appear in it, among which of course the smartphone from Apple, the iPhone, which took the first place, is not missing.

The editors of TIME magazine, which recently also published list of the most influential people in the world, from all fifty selected devices from portable electronics to game consoles and home computers, they made it clear who is the winner in this battle and who deserves to carry the tag of "the most influential device of all time". It became the iPhone, about which the editors wrote:

Apple was the first company to provide all users with a powerful computer right in their pockets after introducing the iPhone in 2007. Even though smartphones had been around for years, no one had created something as accessible and beautiful as the iPhone.

This device ushered in a new era of touchscreen flat phones with all the buttons that pop up on the screen when you need them, replacing phones with slide-out keyboards and static buttons. However, what made the iPhone so great is the operating system and the App Store. The iPhone popularized mobile apps and changed the way we communicate, play games, shop, work and perform many daily activities.

The iPhone is part of a family of very successful products, but above all, it fundamentally changed our relationship with computing and information. Such a change can have ramifications for several decades ahead.

Apple made its way into this list with other products. The original Macintosh was also placed on the box, or rather in third position, the revolutionary iPod music player occupies the ninth place, the iPad took the 25th place and the iBook portable computer finished in the 38th place.

Sony was also a successful company within the given selection of influential devices, boasting the Trinitron TV set in second place and the Walkman in fourth place.
