It seems that they have been dealing with it for many years among apple growers MacBooks they deserved a touch screen. While it is a matter of course for some laptops with the Windows operating system, we have not seen this option in our life with apple representatives, despite the fact that many users have been calling for something like this for a long time. However, the other party is fundamentally against it. If we ever see this gadget, let's put it aside for now. Instead, let's shed some light on whether we even need something like this.

Even one of the founders of Apple, Steve Jobs, commented years ago on the touch screen in MacBooks, according to which it is stupidity. According to him, touch screens do not belong on devices such as laptops, for ergonomic reasons. In addition, Apple apparently had to carry out a number of various tests. But always with the same result - the initial enthusiasm is replaced by disappointment after a few hours, because the control is unnatural for a person and it is only a matter of time before he starts to feel pain in his hands. However, Apple computers have a solid alternative that ensures comfortable, fast and simple control of the system - the trackpad.

Trackpad > touch screen

Simply put, MacBooks don't need a touch screen, as their sophisticated trackpad with multi-touch technology takes care of everything. After all, this is exactly what Steve Jobs mentioned years ago. When he described the ergonomic shortcomings of touchscreens, he mentioned the innovative trackpad as a solution. In this regard, Apple cannot be denied that it is miles ahead of the competition in terms of touchpads. For regular laptops, it is quite cumbersome and uncomfortable to use, which is why everyone relies on a traditional mouse. However, apple growers see it completely differently. It is therefore not surprising that many of them rely solely on the trackpad for practically all activities, including graphics or video editing.

Apple is strongly aware of the importance of trackpads and sees it as one of the strongest parts of its laptops. In addition, a fundamental change came in 2016, when we saw the new MacBook Pro with a significantly larger trackpad area. Although the increase has so far been met with misunderstanding, with some even criticizing the expansion of the touch surface, others cannot praise this change. The giant from Cupertino bet on it for a simple reason – the larger space gives the user better options for controlling the system, which again is especially appreciated by professionals who often move around larger screens.

Among Apple fans, the Magic Trackpad beats the classic mouse

We can therefore call the trackpad a great alternative to the touch screen. As we mentioned above, with its help, the entire system can be controlled quickly and easily, while it is also worth mentioning that it supports a number of gestures that use multi-touch technology. In the final, everything is fast and (more or less) flawless.

Do we even need a touch screen?

In the end, one more interesting question is offered. Do we even need a touch screen? Its use is, of course, discretionary and strongly depends on each user, whether this approach would be comfortable for him or not. In any case, as Apple users, we have become very familiar with the aforementioned trackpad, whose advantages are simply indisputable. On the other hand, being able to draw on the display from time to time doesn't sound so bad. On the contrary, it could be useful, for example, in graphic editors and others. Would you welcome the arrival of a touch screen on apple laptops?
