In its basic version, Simple Recorder is completely free. The application is fully true to its name - in short, it is a simple recorder used to capture sound and then save the corresponding audio track to a selected folder on your computer.
You access the app from the menu bar at the top of your Mac screen, where you can start recording, pause recording, or stop recording altogether. After clicking on the application icon, you will also get to the preferences or you can purchase the Pro version of the application here. In the preferences, you can set the format in which the recordings will be saved, choose the frequency and channel.
