It won't always be the hottest news, our goal is primarily to highlight apps that we think are worth paying attention to. Today we will introduce you to the IINA app for playing video files.
Mac applications for playing multimedia files are blessed. We decided to try the IINA application, promising a lot of useful functions. IINA is built on top of the open-source MPV video player. The application is characterized above all by a really simple, unobtrusive, visually pleasing user interface.
Right from the start screen, you can either click or use keyboard shortcuts to open a file either from a folder or from a URL. IINA also supports playing streams or playlists from YouTube. The player supports gestures on the trackpad – double-tap with two fingers to control playback as such, swipe up or down with two fingers to control volume, swipe left or right to scroll through the video. You can set all the gestures yourself.
IINA allows multiple playback modes, including full screen or picture-in-picture, where you can freely move the window with the content being played. The player offers the option of adding or automatically searching for and downloading subtitles and can handle DVD files as well. You can control the playback speed of the video as well as the audio track. You can quickly rotate, flip, crop or change the aspect ratio of the video being played directly in the application.
IINA is designed exclusively for macOS and works absolutely flawlessly under it, it goes without saying that MacBooks with Touch Bar are also supported. The application also supports trackpads with Force Touch.

Hello, on the recommendation of this article, I tried to drag this video player to macas. The videos play perfectly, the problem is the CZ subtitles, which it plays in such a way that it does not display letters with diacritics, or replaces them with other symbols. Don't know where the problem could be? Thank you
