GIPHY Capture is a great way to create animated GIFs on your Mac. The software is completely free, but it works surprisingly well, and even complete beginners can easily handle it. GIPHY is not limited to just capturing a video sequence, but also allows for a number of edits. The GIFs you upload can be up to 30 seconds long.

After launch, the application will appear on your Mac screen in the form of a transparent window with a classic red button to start recording. Just cover the area you want to record with the application window and simply click on the appropriate button. You can either save the resulting animated GIF to your computer or upload it to the GIPHY platform where other users can access it. After clicking the settings button, you can further edit your creation - you can set, for example, the playback method, GIF dimensions, or perhaps add animated titles and effects.
If you're recording your own activity on your Mac's screen with GIPHY Capture, you can set whether you want to record the cursor as well. In addition to the mentioned button, you can also use a keyboard shortcut of your choice to start recording.
