Every day, in this column, we will bring you a more detailed look at a selected application that has just caught our attention. Here you will find applications for productivity, creativity, utilities, but also games. It won't always be the hottest news, our goal is primarily to highlight apps that we think are worth paying attention to. Today we're going to introduce you to AppCleaner and Day One.

AppCleaner

AppCleaner is small, unobtrusive, but very useful. When deleting applications in the classic way, individual files may remain on your Mac after each program, which take up space unnecessarily. In a few seconds, AppCleaner can find all the files associated with the application you want to get rid of and delete them along with it.

Using the application is very simple - with the help of the Drag & Drop function, you simply drag the desired application into the AppCleaner window, which will search for all related files, and then just confirm the final deletion of the application. AppCleaner also allows you to find out which files are associated with which application - just click on the lines symbol in the upper right corner of the application window.

The second Mac app we want to introduce you to today is the diary Day One. It is great not only for those who prepare materials for a blog on a daily basis, but it also works well as a multifunctional virtual diary that you will definitely not get tired of. Day One is far from just writing plain text – it offers connections to social networks, your photo library, calendar and other applications. In addition to notes of various kinds, you can also record in Day One data about what the weather was like that day, how many steps you managed to miss or where exactly you were. Of course, it is possible to add media files.

You will find your way around the application environment very quickly and learn to control it easily. Most of the editing tools can be found at the bottom of the journal entry tab. From here you can format text, add media and location, weather or activity data. You can share the recording from DayOne in classic ways and export it in various formats. The premium version of Day One, which will cost you a pleasant 55,-/month, allows you to add sketches to your notes, offers the option of synchronization and backups, unlimited storage and a number of other benefits.
