We're always on the lookout for new features and improvements at our magazine, and in this article we'll take a look at another option from macOS 12 Monterey.

macOS 12: How to turn off Quick Notes

macOS 12 Monterey comes with many great features that are definitely worth it. One of them also includes Quick notes, thanks to which you can record a note anywhere and anytime in the system. A quick note can be invoked simply by holding down the Command key and then moving the cursor to the bottom right corner of the screen. But the truth is that not all individuals need to be satisfied with Quick Notes. This is how they can be deactivated:

  • On a Mac with macOS 12 Monterey, in the upper left, tap icon .
  • Once you do so, select from the menu that appears System Preferences…
  • After that, a new window will open, within which you will find all the sections intended for managing preferences.
  • Within this window, locate and click on the section named Mission Control.
  • Then click on the button with the name in the lower left corner Active corners.
  • This will open another window where you tap on menu in the lower right corner with the function A quick note.
  • Then find in this menu dash, on which click
  • Finally, just press OK a close preferences.

So using this procedure to disable Quick Notes on a Mac with macOS 12 Monterey installed. As I mentioned above, it may not suit some individuals. Among other things, it's about the fact that Quick Notes are called through Active Corners. With the help of this function, you can set an action to be performed after moving the cursor to one of the corners of the screen - there are several available. If you are using Active Corners, this means that Quick Notes can overwrite your current Active Corners settings, which is probably not what you want. This will ensure that Quick Notes don't get in the way.
