At the moment, two months have already passed since the introduction of new operating systems from Apple. During these two months, countless different tutorials appeared on our magazine, in which you could learn more about the news and other improvements that Apple prepared for us. We deal with all gadgets practically every day, which only underlines the fact that there are really many new products available, even though it might not seem so at first glance. Currently, all developers or registered beta testers can get early access to iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15. In this tutorial, we'll look at other improvements from macOS 12 Monterey.

macOS 12: Activate hidden display settings

Apple strives to make its products and systems accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. Precisely for these users, the Accessibility section is available in the settings of apple operating systems, which contains various special functions. But the truth is that some functions from Accessibility are also used by classic users who do not suffer from any handicap - from time to time an article will appear in our magazine in which we focus on useful functions from Accessibility. The Accessibility section of macOS 12 Monterey includes additional display-related features. If you would like to try them out, you can find them as follows:

  • First, on your Mac running macOS 12 Monterey, you need to tap on the top left of the icon .
  • A drop-down menu will then appear in which you can select an option System Preferences…
  • Once you do so, a new window will appear with all available sections for editing preferences.
  • Now in this window, locate and click on the box with the name Disclosure.
  • Then scroll down in the left menu, where you then click on the section Monitor.
  • Also, make sure that you are in the tab in the top menu Monitor.
  • There are already two new functions here Show windows title iconsShow toolbar button shapes, which you can activate.

So, using the above method, you can enable hidden display settings in Accessibility on Mac with macOS 12 Monterey. Some of you are probably wondering what these functions actually do, or what they are for. It can be read from the English labels that will be honored, however, if you do not speak English, it may be a problem for you. If you activate Show windows title icons, so the corresponding icons will be displayed in the Finder next to the names of the folders located at the top of the window. If you activate Show toolbar button shapes, so the individual buttons in the application toolbars are delimited, thanks to which it is possible to know their shape exactly. It's nothing groundbreaking, but some may like these new display options.
