More and more Mac users are complaining about problems in the Finder in some cases after the latest system update called macOS 10.15.4. In particular, users are not able to copy or otherwise transfer larger files, which is a problem that can affect users who shoot videos or create graphics. Apple is currently aware of the problem and is reportedly working on a fix.

macOS Catalina 10.15.4 has been out to the public for a few weeks, but in recent days more and more dissatisfied users have started to appear on the web, for whom the Finder does not work as it should. As soon as these users copy or otherwise transfer larger files, the entire system crashes. The whole problem is described in relatively detail at forum to SoftRAID, which it says is working with Apple to fix this problem. According to the details revealed so far, the bug that causes the system to crash only applies to Apple-formatted (APFS) drives, and only in cases where a file larger than (roughly) 30GB is being transferred. Once such a large file is moved, the system for some reason does not proceed as it would in cases where smaller files are moved. Because of this, the system eventually so-called "falls".

Unfortunately, the problem described above is not the only one that plagues the latest version of macOS Catalina. A relatively large number of users complain about other similar bugs and system crashes that occur, for example, after waking up the Mac from sleep or the constant loading of hard drives in sleep mode. In general, it can be said that the reactions to the new version of macOS are not very positive and the system as such is not quite ideally tuned. Do you also have similar problems on your Mac, or are they just avoiding you?
