Apple presented a whole range of new products at yesterday's keynote. We got a new one MacBook Air, innovated Mac Mini and he also saw the light of day the new iPad Pro together with the second generation Apple Pencil. However, the offer of Apple appeared, or will appear, also changes that no one commented too loudly. From November 14, MacBook Pros will receive new dedicated graphics cards, which should push the limits of computing performance a good bit further.

Apple mentioned this news only casually in one of the official press releases that the company published yesterday. From November 14, it will be possible to order new AMD Radeon Pro Vega graphics accelerators for MacBook Pro configurations. According to the information available on the official website, it will be a replacement for the currently available AMD RX 555X and RX 560X accelerators. When you want to configure the new MacBook Pro on the Apple website, in the tab with available GPU upgrades, you will come across information that completely new configurations will be available from the second half of November.

AMD Radeon Pro Vega 16 and AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 GPUs will be available. Both units have 4 GB of HBM memory and should offer up to 60% more performance than the previous versions. It is not yet clear whether the new graphics will follow the same price level, or those interested will have to pay a little more. Apart from the promotional video (above), almost no information is known about these accelerators. Based on the name, it can be assumed that it is a cut-down version of the Vega 56/64 desktop GPUs. However, we will have to wait at least a week for practical performance benchmarks. Finally, it looks like the MacBook Pro has also received the update. We will find out relatively soon how important the update will be.
