On the occasion of the October Apple Event conference, one of the most anticipated Apple devices of this year was revealed. Of course, we are talking about the redesigned MacBook Pro with 14″ and 16″ displays, which also saw a huge increase in performance thanks to the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, a Mini LED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a number of other advantages. At the same time, the Cupertino giant has finally brought a novelty that Apple users have been calling for for several years - a FaceTime camera in Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels). But there is one catch. Along with a better camera came a cutout in the display.

You can read about whether the cutout in the display of the new MacBook Pros is really a problem, or how Apple uses it, in our earlier articles. Of course, you may or may not like this change, and that's totally fine. But now we are here for something else. A few days after the introduction of the aforementioned Pro models, information began to appear across the Apple community that Apple would bet on the same change in the case of the next generation MacBook Air. This opinion was even supported by one of the most well-known leakers, Jon Prosser, who even shared renders of this device. But currently, new renders from LeaksApplePro have appeared on the Internet. These were allegedly created based on CAD drawings directly from Apple.

The question therefore arises as to why Apple would implement a cut-out in the case of the professional MacBook Pro, but for the cheaper Air, it has so to speak avoided a similar change. Various opinions from the apple growers themselves appear on the discussion forums. In any case, it remains an interesting opinion that the next generation of MacBook Pro could see the arrival of Face ID. Of course, this technology has to be hidden somewhere, for which a cutout is a suitable solution, as we can all see on our iPhones. Apple could thus prepare users for a similar change with this year's series. On the other hand, the MacBook Air will remain faithful to the fingerprint reader, or Touch ID, in that case.

In addition, as we mentioned in the introduction, the cut-out of the current MacBook Pro finally hides a higher-quality camera with Full HD resolution. Now the question is whether a cutout is needed for a better camera, or whether Apple is not planning to use it in some way, for example for the already mentioned Face ID. Or that the cut-out would be a purely "Pro" gadget?

The next generation MacBook Air will probably be introduced in the first half of next year. According to the information so far, the main changes will consist of the newer Apple Silicon chip with the designation M2 and the design, when after years Apple will retreat from the current, thinner form and bet on the body of the 13″ MacBook Pro. At the same time, there is also talk of the return of the MagSafe power connector and a number of new color variants, in which the Air is probably inspired by the 24″ iMac.
