Mac fans are currently debating the transition to Apple Silicon. Last year, Apple introduced its own chip solution that will replace processors from Intel in Apple computers. So far, the giant from Cupertino has deployed its own M1 chip only in the so-called basic models, which is why everyone is curious how they will handle the transition, for example, in the case of more professional Macs such as the Mac Pro or 16″ MacBook Pro. According to the latest information, the mentioned Mac Pro should arrive in 2022, but again with a processor from Intel, specifically with the Ice Lake Xeon W-3300, which does not officially exist yet.

This information was shared by the respected portal WCCFTech, and it was first shared by the well-known leaker YuuKi, who has revealed a lot of mysteries about Intel Xeon processors in the past. In particular, the W-3300 Ice Lake series should be introduced relatively soon. There have even been mentions of a new version of the Ice Lake SP processor in the code of the Xcode 13 beta development environment. According to Intel, the new product will offer better performance, significantly higher security, efficiency and a built-in chip for better work with AI tasks. Mac Pro processors will specifically offer up to 38 cores with 76 threads. The best configuration should offer 57MB cache and a clock frequency of 4,0 GHz.

That's why a debate began almost immediately among apple lovers about how the transition to Apple Silicon will actually happen. From him, Apple promised that it would be complete within two years. The most likely possibility now appears to be two versions of the Mac Pro in the works. After all, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has already hinted at this. Although Apple is now developing its own chip for this top Mac, there will still be an update to the Intel version. The Mac Pro with an Apple Silicon chip could then even be about half the size, but no further information is still available.
