This time last year, Apple released new information regarding powerful computers. After several years of stagnation, professionals finally learned that the company is preparing a new iMac Pro, which will then complement the even more powerful (and modularly oriented) Mac Pro. The statement at the time did not mention a new Mac Pro release, but it was widely expected to arrive sometime in 2018. This has now been refuted directly by Apple. The new and modular Mac Pro will not be released until next year.

The server editor came up with the information Techcrunch, who was invited to a special event dedicated to the company's product strategy. It was here that he learned that the new Mac Pro would not arrive this year.

We want to be transparent and completely open to the users of our professional community. Therefore, we want to let them know that Mac Pro is not coming this year, it is a product of 2019. We know that there is a huge amount of interest waiting for this product, but there are several reasons for the release next year. That's why we're publishing this information so that users can decide for themselves whether they want to wait for a Mac Pro or buy one of the iMac Pros.

The interview also revealed information that a new division has started operating within Apple, which focuses primarily on professional hardware. It's called the ProWorkflow Team, and in addition to the iMac Pro and the already mentioned modular Mac Pro, it's in charge of, for example, the development of a new professional display, which has been talked about for several months.

In order to target the developed products as best as possible, Apple has hired real professionals from practice who are now working for the company, and based on their suggestions, requirements and experience, the ProWorkflow Team prepares new hardware. This consulting activity is said to be very effective and allows for an even greater understanding of how the professional segment works and what these people expect from their hardware.

The current Mac Pro has been on the market since 2013 and has been sold essentially unchanged since then. Currently, the only powerful hardware Apple offers is the new iMac Pro from last December. The latter is available in several performance configurations at astronomical prices.
