If your Mac or MacBook does not automatically switch to sleep mode, then you need to find out which application is causing this mischief. The procedure in this case is as follows:

  • First, you need to run the app on your macOS device Activity monitor.
  • You can start Activity Monitor using Spotlight, or you can find it in Applications -> Utilities.
  • After starting the mentioned application, switch to the section at the top of the window CPU.
  • Once you've done that, click on the tab in the top bar Display.
  • This will bring up a drop-down menu, hover your cursor over the option Columns.
