Adam Kos Apple characterizes its Mac mini as the most versatile desktop. It is designed to offer as many functions as possible in the smallest and most elegant body. Its first generation was launched back in 2005, and to this day this desktop computer is largely overlooked. But it certainly deserves its attention.
The Mac mini is the cheapest Apple computer ever. It was already after his introduction and it is still the case now. Its basic price tag in the Apple Online Store is CZK 21 (Apple M990 chip with 1-core CPU and 8-core GPU, 8GB of storage and 256GB of unified memory). This is, of course, because you are only buying the hardware here in the form of the computer itself, you have to buy everything else, whether it is peripherals such as a keyboard and mouse/trackpad, or a monitor. Unlike the iMac, however, you are not dependent on the company's solution and can create an absolutely ideal setup for you.

The new 24" iMac is nice, but it can limit a lot of things - the diagonal, the angle and perhaps the unnecessary accessories in the package, when you would rather use a different and perhaps even more professional one. The Mac Pro is, of course, out of the conceivable spectrum for the average user. But if you want an Apple desktop, there's no other choice. Of course, you can take a MacBook and connect it to an external monitor with other peripherals, but the Mac mini has its own unmistakable charm that you will easily fall in love with.

The product line has, of course, gone through an evolutionary design development throughout its history, when we already have an aluminum unibody design for quite a few years, which disturbs the rear panel for ports as much as possible. The lower plastic stand, which can be used to get inside the machine, is normally not visible. The device is just small enough to keep on your desk, while its design will make it look elegant at home or at work.

If you look in the menu of the mini PC segment, as these computers are called, you will not find any similar devices. So there are quite a few of them, especially from brands such as Asus, HP and NUC, when their price ranges from about 8 thousand to more than 30 thousand CZK. But whichever model you look at, these are strange black boxes with nothing nice at all. Whether Apple intended it or not, its Mac mini is truly unique in the sense that the competition does not copy it in any way. As a result, it is the most interesting machine of these small dimensions (3,6 x 19,7 x 19,7 cm) and is perhaps unfairly overlooked.
