It's been less than a week since we informed you about an event in the Mac App Store. For three weeks, Apple offers selected applications at a bargain price.
This week, apps that fall into the category are on sale Organization (organization of tasks, thoughts, things and files). For half the regular price, they are again available:
- Gemini: The Duplicate Finder – a great tool for searching and deleting the same files on your Mac, external drives, or NAS servers.
- unclutter is an excellent menubar utility that allows you to store notes, files and clipboard. Everything will be accessible from the pop-up window that appears when you drag the mouse from the menu bar. Thanks to Unclutter, you won't need to have any files on your desktop and your notepad will be much more accessible.
- Delicious Library 2 – an electronic home library to organize your books, movies, series, music, games, gadgets, toys, electronics, clothes and more. Did you lend someone a book? Drag it to a person's contact and you won't forget who has it in a year. Adding products is easy and you can use the iSight camera on your Mac to scan product barcodes from the US, Canada, England, Japan, France and Germany. Organization of all your things in one clear library.
- (Together is an application similar to Delicious Library 2, but here you will have clearly organized texts, documents, videos, images, sounds, web pages and much more in the library. You will have instant access to all this data through one interface.
- Tree – hierarchical organization of notes and ToDo with advanced functions. Tree comes with a new and clear system for organizing ideas, projects or even learning notes.
- MindNote Pro, a professional tool for creating mind maps. In addition to creating mind maps with many extension functions, the application also enables simple and clear management of all maps and their sharing via Wi-Fi, or export to several different formats including PDF and FreeMind.
- Compartments - Home Inventory serves as a home inventory of your belongings in each room. You can add practically anything, from furniture to electronics. Photos and tags can also be assigned to objects. Last but not least, smart collections can be created. All information can be entered very quickly not only using keyboard shortcuts. A big plus of the application is the ability to track the warranty period of each item in the library.
- Daisydisk, a simple application for finding all files on a disk, an external disk, or a certain folder, which displays all files in different colors. This way you can easily find out what and where is taking up your space. Using the small wheel in the lower left corner, you can put unnecessary files in the temporary trash. The application can then delete the selected files.
- home inventory – another home library of your stuff. It doesn't have as nice an interface as Compartments, but it makes up for it with a free downloadable app for iPhone and iPad. Back up your inventory and take it wherever you go with your iOS device. With the Home Inventory Photo Remote app, you can add items and photos to them via Wi-Fi. The application will also allow monitoring of the warranty period of the items with a subsequent notification of the expiration of the warranty.
And which apps are worth paying attention to?
I can recommend Daisydisk, which makes it easy to see what's taking up disk space on your Mac. Unnecessary files can also be easily deleted. The second tip is on the application MindNote Pro, which is great for creating mind maps. There is also Lite version, which you can try for free and then eventually decide to buy the better Pro version.
Next week is the last and we can look forward to the category Utilize (Processing and Use). One thing's for sure, if you're going to start being productive, now (and next week) is the time.
I recently bought Gemini, it's a great app. I couldn't decide between it and another one (I don't remember which one anymore), but in the end I bought Gemini because I also have CleanMyMac from MacPaw and I'm satisfied :-)
I also recommend DaisyDisk ;-)
I would buy the gemini. But can you compare it by content? if there are two files of the same size and I name one then I delete it :-( e.g. I have excel files, text documents which unfortunately have the same name but I overwrote some numbers there..
another problem is duplicates in itunes. if it is written at the same time as vice-compilation, then it gets confused too, doesn't it? I messed up the itunes library with some script, so I had to fix it manually and possibly rip the CD again
As for the file size, I don't know how it works exactly, but you can set a minimum file size there. Anything smaller than the set size will be ignored. Then there you can also set exceptions to the address book, so that if I exclude the iTunes library, the paq will not be scanned.
Well, unfortunately, I didn't look at it in detail and in depth. Well, in the final verdict, after the scan, it's me, I choose what I want to delete and what not. Everything is nicely sorted by genre (music, pictures, documentaries,...).
Regards,
don't know if Together has any advantages over Adobe Bridge? I'm using it now and I'm quite satisfied (I would say commendably :D). It's enough money for me not to use it. Does anyone have experience with Together? Otherwise, half of those applications will probably save my life :D
