"In the beginning, I knew two things, that I always have my phone and my wallet with me. For that reason, I wanted to combine these two things together and that's how a wallet and an iPhone case came into being." says the director of the Czech company Danny P., Daniel Piterák. The leather wallet is best described by three words – elegance, functionality and simplicity. The packaging is also the first ever Czech product to be sold in the American Apple Online Store.
Danny P. offers cases for the iPhone 6/6S as well as the larger 6/6S Plus. I use a "plus" iPhone myself, so I reached for a larger case, however, the only difference is in size. Danny P. makes all his products from premium Italian leather, and the quality and precise design (handmade in the Czech Republic) can be felt immediately after unpacking the case.
It is, as the director Danny P. himself mentions, two products in one: a wallet and an iPhone case. When you open the case, you'll find a custom-made pocket for your iPhone on one side and seven compartments for payment and other cards on the other. There is also a large pocket for banknotes and possibly other documents, so you can store everything important in the case, from documents to money. Of course, only the coins are missing, but then the entire case would be difficult to close.
I was much more worried about how difficult it would be to handle the iPhone, which needs to be completely inserted into a leather pocket. Fortunately, the leather is cut out in the upper part, which ensures easier access. In addition, the skin is constantly working and loosens slightly over time. The pocket adapts completely within a few weeks and the iPhone is very easy to slide in and out. But not in such a way that he could possibly fall out.
When you insert the iPhone into the case as intended by the manufacturer, you have convenient access to all connectors. The mentioned cut-out is also there for one more important reason – because of Touch ID and Apple Pay. When paying, you don't have to take your iPhone out of your pocket at all, just place the entire case to the terminal and your finger on the button to confirm the purchase. For us, this use is still out of date, but we hope to see it someday.
In combination with Apple Watch
Although my concerns about the ease of handling the iPhone were quickly dispelled, I was still unsure if this case was for me. With a wallet from Danny P., your iPhone is always covered and you can't get to its display and controls as easily as when you have your phone in your pocket, at most in a simple case. I myself was used to just pulling the iPhone out of my bag and immediately having it ready for action.
However, after a few days of wearing the iPhone in Danny P.'s case, I found that I could get by just fine with the Apple Watch. They keep sending me notifications about what's happening on the iPhone. I don't have to take it out of the leather case that often. Without a watch, I would probably have to change my habits a bit, but this is a purely individual matter.
Storing the iPhone in a padded pocket will be welcomed, for example, by those users who do not like to carry the phone in cases, but at the same time want to protect it as much as possible. Nothing happens to the iPhone in the Danny P. case, and the leather is strong enough that it should protect it even in the event of a fall. After all, the entire case is quite massive in the end, and with dimensions of 173 × 105 × 11 millimeters you won't be able to hide it anywhere.
If you've been used to carrying even a large iPhone 6S Plus in your pockets, you almost certainly won't succeed with the case from Danny P. Certainly not with pants. The already large iPhone is made even bigger by the leather case. On the other hand, it provides very good protection and you can also easily store all your documents and money on the phone. If you carry your iPhone in a bag, for example, you won't have a problem with the size of the case.
In addition, you can choose from three color combinations, classic black, dark brown or an unconventional combination of brown and blue leather. With its case and wallet in one, Danny P. clearly targets customers who are not satisfied with a piece of plastic, like leather and are looking for stylish accessories. You will pay 2 crowns for all this, and how for the iPhone 6S variant, So for iPhone 6S Plus. It would be too much for an ordinary case, but here the precise design is combined with quality leather (and an extra wallet), which in the end creates a quite luxurious product.
Paid advertising? ;) Well, at least the article seems to me as if I were reading an advertising brochure...
btw, without a crumb, it's not a wallet and quite overpriced (which is to be expected with Apple accessories) :)
This is by no means a paid advertisement. I tested the case for almost two months, so I wore it every day and actively used it. It still surprises and amazes me that most people, when they read reviews like this, automatically write that it is a paid advertisement. I don't see any justification for it.
Of course, the coin case is missing for understandable reasons, which I also describe in the review.
Really.. it's a quality product and it also advertises itself.. I do have another version for the 6s (not the one they have in the apple store), but I've also been using it for a few months and I'm still completely satisfied.. I was a bit hesitant about the purchase due to the price is higher, but I don't regret it.. the smell of the skin is priceless :)
The price could be "justified" if the case (I don't want to use the word wallet) didn't have that terrible ugly Danny P. inscription, which makes the case (wallet) an accessory suitable only for the hands of carousels.
When I take into account that for 700,- there is a beautiful branded bugatti leather case, made of nice leather, I don't see much enthusiasm in this.
Even if I had this wallet custom-made by R. Tlustý, it would at least be a unique original without a logo. Tlustý will sew it for you from the leather of your choice, and for the price, I'm guessing you'll fit in 2000.
I think this is a paid advertisement. A similar "test" of this case appeared on the competing LsA server marked as a commercial message.
It has to be paid for somehow, a high-quality leather iPhone case from Bugatti costs 700,- at most
Got an iPhone 6S wallet from Danny. I am extremely satisfied, there is nothing to solve at all - at all,... So I have the black version, the blue-brown one seems quite unsightly (personal opinion). Otherwise, regarding coins - honestly, I throw fifties and twenties into the safe in my car for the parking meters, I leave the smaller ones where I shop - I don't want to cast myself in any way, I don't mean it in a bad way, but the truth is that the processing, quality and "everything" in general Danny is definitely not targeting the segment of students who bought an Apple 4S from the bazaar yesterday (no offense). Otherwise, I identify with the author even within the Apple Watch, I practically don't take out my phone at all, it pairs immediately with the radio in the car, I play music from my phone to the car via the Apple Watch, the same text messages and basic responses to emails. The only negative thing is the size - it would be a sin to "stuff" the wallet in the pockets of jean shorts while running around outside chasing the ball. In my case, the bill will be in the left pocket, the phone in the right, the wallet in the car - because I won't have anywhere to put it. Oh, and if you're a fan of those hideous plastic covers and various screen protectors, put your wallet away. ... I don't know that people can't calculate that the investment in that cover nonsense will cost them as much as phone insurance, ... Howgh. :)
Yes, you must have quite a lot of parking consumption :-D
I like the case, but I would be interested in another thing about it. I have personal experience that such proximity between a mobile phone and some cards, especially with a magnetic strip, leads to their failure due to the influence of the phone. Is there any experience or comments from the manufacturer?
I have been using a case from OZAKI for more than a year, where a payment card can be inserted from the back. I haven't noticed any damage to the card during that time. It is true that I only pay with a chip or contactless, but it works without the slightest problem.
thanks, but that's clear, it doesn't apply to the chip, nfc, etc... I think the problem could be with the magnetic strip. I would be interested in that.
Well, given the higher price, I would already reach for Tomáš Linger. I have a case from him, but the approx. 3 mm thick leather definitely seems more robust than this one :)
A friend recently had a tailor made by Tomáš Linger, and he can't praise her enough either.
Yes, that's good... if someone siphons off my money, I'll also come with my phone, cards, etc. (of course, another order is also possible).
I'd like it if it didn't have that stupid Danny P logo on it.
I could immediately buy a case with the inscription Mercury S., Evžen L., Adam C., Elfríde J.
Such a fake snobbery, a $10 ebay flip case will do just as well or better.
