Products of the brand Beats by Dr. Dre gained huge popularity in the world practically immediately. But when we look at who is originally behind the whole company, there is nothing to be surprised about. Two world-famous names came up with this idea - the legendary rapper and producer Dr. Dre and prominent businessman Jimmy Iovine. It was this pair that created Beats Electronics in 2006, focusing on headphones offering premium sound. At the same time, they were huge visionaries who already came up with the concept of streaming music back then. This is exactly how the Beats Music streaming platform was created, which saw its first launch in early 2014. However, already this year, the Cupertino giant Apple bought the company and transformed the service into Apple Music.

Is Beats coughing on speakers?

In today's portfolio of this brand, there are several really interesting products that definitely have a lot to offer. Great examples are, for example, Beats Studio Buds or the brand new Beats Fit Pro headphones. However, when we think about it, we realize that the company did not release a new Bluetooth speaker some Friday ago. The current offer includes the most current generation of Beats Pill+, which was introduced in October 2015, i.e. 6 years ago. Apparently, the company is definitely ditching its speakers and focusing fully on headphones. There's really nothing to be surprised about. As we mentioned above, Beats as such was created for a simple reason - to bring headphones to the market with the best possible sound.

The future of Beats speakers

In conclusion, the question arises as to what the future holds for Beats Bluetooth speakers, i.e. the Pill product line. Unfortunately, at the moment, it is extremely difficult to even try to guess the answer. The question is also whether the sales potential of these pieces is at a high enough level to make it worthwhile for the company to invest in the development of the next generations. The biggest problem here is the price, as Apple charges 2015 crowns for the current Beats Pill+ from 5, which is simply not a very friendly price. In addition, there are many different alternatives on the market at a significantly more affordable price.
