The main advantage of the new iPhone 11 is clearly the camera, which Apple tried to emphasize to us at the keynote last week. During the demonstration of the capabilities of the camera system, it was also the turn of the Filmic Pro application, which is capable of taking video from all the phone's cameras at the same time. However, last year's models, as well as the iPad Pro, will get this function, albeit to a somewhat limited extent.

The ability to record video from multiple cameras at once is enabled by a new API in iOS 13 that Apple introduced at WWDC in June. The feature requires fairly powerful hardware, but last year's iPhones and iPad Pros have it for the most part. On these devices, their owners will be able to record from up to two cameras simultaneously. The iPhone XS (Max) will support recording from both the front and rear cameras at the same time, or even from both rear cameras at the same time (wide-angle lens + telephoto lens).

The new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro (Max) will most likely be able to record from all three and four cameras at once, respectively - this is exactly what the developers of Filmic Pro demonstrated during the premiere of the phones last week. In any case, we will have to wait for the official specifications of the function, because Apple has not listed them on its website yet.

Developers had all summer to implement the new API in their projects. After the release of iOS 13 and the start of sales of the new iPhone 11, it can be expected that several applications will appear in the App Store that will support the novelty. The aforementioned Filmic Pro will receive the necessary update before the end of this year.

After all, this function is partially supported by the native Camera application on the iPhone 11 (Pro). Newly, the entire surface of the display is used when taking photos, so the user can also see what is happening outside the shot. It is at this moment that the application displays the image from two cameras simultaneously. With just a tap, it is then possible to capture the scene from a wider perspective.
