It is no longer a rule that the design of iPhones changes fundamentally every two years. With the arrival of the iPhone 6, Apple switched to a slower three-year cycle, which will close for the second time this year. So it is more or less clear that this year's iPhone models will bring only minor design changes, which will mainly consist of a triple camera. But we are also expecting a change in the form of relocating the bitten apple logo from the upper third of the back to exactly the middle. This will happen for the first time in the history of iPhones, and although this move may seem unfortunate to some, it has several logical reasons.

It's a bit of an exaggeration to say that the vast majority of leaks or renders of the iPhone 11 are wrong. At first glance, this is a somewhat unconventional design change, which probably only some would welcome. However, it's all about habit, and in addition, Apple has several valid reasons for moving the logo.

The first is, of course, the triple camera, which will occupy a slightly larger area than the dual camera. Thus, if the current position were maintained, the logo would be too close to the entire module, which would disrupt the overall aesthetics of the phone. The second reason is the new reverse charging function that the iPhone 11 should have. Thanks to this, it will be possible to wirelessly charge, for example, AirPods on the back of the phone, and the logo located exactly in the middle of the back will thus serve as a central point where to place the charging accessories.

Moreover, if we look at other Apple products such as the iPad, MacBook or iPod, we will find that they all have the logo located in the middle of the back. This has been the case practically from the beginning, and as a result it will be quite logical that Apple will unify the design of its products. The logo placed in the middle even has some original iPhone accessories, such as the Smart Battery Case.

In the end, the question remains how Apple will deal with the "iPhone" logo, which is located in the lower third of the back. According to available information, he plans to remove it completely. But within Europe, the phones still have to be homologated, so for now we can only assume how Apple will deal with this. We will learn more next Tuesday, September 10, or later, when the phones go on sale in the Czech market as well.
