Keyboards are one of the most commonly purchased accessories for the iPad, and we can find a large number of manufacturers that deal in keyboards for tablets on a large scale. Among the biggest is Logitech, which has already introduced a large number of keyboards for both the large iPad and the iPad mini. Today, the company announced new keyboards for the 5th generation iPad (iPad Air), which changed dimensions after a long time.

Logitech will offer the Ultrathin Keyboard Cover, Ultrathin Keyboard Folio and FabricSkin Keyboard Folio starting next month. While the Keyboard Cover offers a thin keyboard that also serves as protection for the front of the iPad, the Folia absorbs the entire iPad and protects its back as well. The keyboards are de facto customized iterations of previous products. Details for individual keyboards are as follows:

  • Ultrathin Keyboard Cover – the back surface is made of aluminum and its shape copies the shape of the iPad, after detaching from the magnetic attachment it works as a dock and, like other keyboards, it connects via Bluetooth. It also enables the function of putting the display to sleep when closed thanks to magnets. The dimensions are 240mm x 169,5mm x 7,3mm and the weight is 330g. It will be sold for $99.
  • Ultrathin Keyboard Folio – encloses the iPad in a protective case that protects it from all sides and allows several different tilt positions. The built-in keyboard, as with all other devices, lasts around 3 months. The folio also includes a SecureLock to ensure that the cover does not open on its own. The dimensions are 255mm x 185mm x 20,15mm and the weight is 425g. It will be sold for $99.
  • FabricSkin Keyboard Folio – unlike the keyboard above, the elegant Folio FabricSkin is washable with water, which is also related to the different design of the keys, the pressure of which is somewhat different. It also has a sleeker look than the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio, but the price jumps to $149. The dimensions are 255,5 mm × 185 mm × 18,5 mm, the weight is 425 g.

In addition to the keyboards, Logitech also announced the Folio Protective Case, which is very similar to the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio, only without the keyboard. It will retail for $49.
